Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

When Cris walked into the hospital room, he saw the girl who had saved his sister sit up right away.

"What are you doing? You're badly hurt. You can't move around like this. Lie down now and take care of yourself," Cris said.

Tracy was startled when she heard his voice. She didn't know him, but seeing Shirley happily run over to him, she guessed this was her brother, Cris. Shirley was young but already looked like a little beauty. Her brother looked even better than many actors on TV. He had a sharp and strong look. This family really had good genes.

She didn't expect them to come to the hospital with her. But she couldn't stay here long. Her body didn't have any real injuries. If someone noticed that, it would cause problems.

"It's not that serious. I feel fine. You're Cris, Shirley's brother, right? Thank you for coming with me. I'm not badly hurt, so I plan to leave now," Tracy said.

"That's not right. Even if your injuries aren't serious, you still need to stay and be watched for a few days. What if something happens later? Don't treat your health lightly just because you're young," Cris said.

She had taken the pill he gave her, and most of her injuries were already healed. But there might still be some side effects. The pill only helped the body heal faster. It wasn't something that could fix everything right away.

She had saved his sister, so he wanted her to recover fully before leaving. And deep inside, when he saw her, he felt something he couldn't explain. He didn't want anything to happen to her.

"I feel fine now. I'm moving around, and I don't feel like someone who got hurt badly. Also, I really don't like staying in hospitals," Tracy said.

She didn't want to stay. Hospital costs were high, and there was a risk someone might find out her secret. That was something she couldn't allow.

But she didn't know that Cris already figured out she was mostly healed. He wouldn't expose her. He believed the pill had worked really well and would even help her keep the secret.

Seeing how serious she was, Cris didn't try to stop her. "Even if you want to leave now, at least let the doctor check you one more time. This is serious. When we saw the car hit you and throw you into the air, we were all shocked. It's better to be safe."

"No need to bother the doctor. I know my body well. Thank you for staying with me, but I'm fine now. You don't need to wait here. I'll go handle the discharge papers and leave," Tracy said.

Cris saw that she was sure of her decision. He also knew she must be almost fully healed, so he didn't stop her. He watched her finish the paperwork.

Her injuries didn't seem serious when she first arrived, just surface wounds. She only stayed in the hospital for half a day, so the cost wasn't high. When Tracy saw the bill, she was relieved. She didn't have much money, and a big bill would be hard to handle. She didn't even have a job yet.

"This is the money you covered. Thank you," Tracy said.

"You should be the one getting thanks. You saved my little sister. That means a lot to my family. You don't need to pay. I only covered it for now. The driver who hit you will take care of the cost," Cris said.

When Tracy heard this, she didn't argue. "Okay then. I'll go now."

"Where do you live? I'll take you home," Cris said.

"Sister, please let us take you. We'll be worried if you go alone," Shirley said.

"Alright, thank you," Tracy said. She couldn't say no to such a sweet girl.

Cris drove her home. When they arrived, he said, "This is my phone number. If you ever need help with anything, call me. As long as it's not something illegal, I'll help you."

He had the ability to say that. As the leader of a special team in the national security office, he had a lot of power and strong connections.

Shirley stood beside him and said, "Sister, this is my number. Please don't forget it. Can you also give me your number? I really like you."

Tracy hadn't planned to stay in contact, but when she saw Shirley's bright eyes filled with hope, her heart softened. There was no way she could say no. Without thinking much, she gave her number. Only after she gave it did she realize she had been charmed by her cuteness. Even little beauties were dangerous. Luckily, she didn't lose control and act silly.

Shirley held the number and smiled happily. "Sister, please talk to me often. I have many secrets to tell you. Don't forget me."

"You're too cute. Even if I forget everyone else, I won't forget you," Tracy said.

As Tracy walked away, Shirley looked at Cris and said, "Brother, snap out of it. She's already gone. Do you like her? I think Tracy is great. She'd make a good sister-in-law. Much better than your last girlfriend."

"Who taught you to talk like that? You're too young to understand anything. I already told you, she wasn't my girlfriend, just a coworker. You had a scare today, so I won't scold you. But if you say things like this again, be careful or I'll spank you," Cris said.

Shirley's eyes moved around playfully. She didn't take her brother's words seriously. Instead, she was thinking about how to tell their parents. She really liked Tracy. If Tracy became her sister-in-law, they could be together all the time.

After getting back home, Tracy finally had time to sort through the information in her mind about the dimensional shop. She had once thought about opening a small store if she couldn't find a job. But she never expected to suddenly receive a mysterious dimensional shop like this.

Just from the name, she knew it was a big opportunity. It had even saved her life.

When Tracy tried to enter the shop, she suddenly disappeared from her room and arrived in a strange place. Seeing the surroundings, she quickly understood this was her shop. The shop was about ten square meters. It was small and completely empty. She had to add all the products herself.

After understanding the basic info about the shop, Tracy felt the person who created it must be very smart in business. This shop existed inside a crack between time and space and was connected to people living in a post-apocalyptic world.

That world was full of chaos. Even the most ordinary items from her world could sell for very high prices there. This could make a lot of money.

In such a dangerous world, where order was gone and people were struggling to survive, opening a shop without power was like asking to die. Luckily, this dimensional shop had one very important feature. The shop owner was completely safe inside it.

There were other functions too, but Tracy couldn't read all the information at once. Just the basic parts already showed how amazing the shop was.

Now that she was connected to the shop, it only linked to one post-apocalyptic world. Whether she could earn her first money depended on that world's situation.

After understanding how the shop worked, Tracy left and went back home. Since there were no products in the shop, she couldn't start selling anything.

She didn't know what kind of world the shop was connected to. But if it was a post-apocalyptic world, it couldn't be safe.

As someone without fighting skills, Tracy knew if she left the shop and entered the other world, she would not survive. So her plan was simple. Buy some goods, place them in the shop, and sell them to people from that world. Making some money would be enough.

As for entering that world herself, absolutely not. No matter how curious she felt, Tracy would not risk her life.

She didn't know what was happening in that world. But she believed common items would still be useful. So she went to the supermarket and bought several boxes of bottled water, instant noodles, and similar things.

These items were cheap. Even if she couldn't sell them, she could still use them herself. That made Tracy confident about her purchases. After bringing everything home, she placed them in the dimensional shop and got ready to start.

Tracy noticed that after she placed the products in the shop, they were automatically changed. The packaging on the water and noodles became completely different. The words on them also looked strange. But since she was the shop owner, she could still understand everything. That was one of the shop's basic features. No matter the language or world, she would still be able to read clearly.

A small and simple shop quietly appeared in a new world. Nobody there noticed that the shop suddenly showed up. Nobody thought it was strange. It felt like the shop had always been there.

When Tracy opened the door and looked outside, she saw a ruined city. There were abandoned cars on the streets. No people at all. Everything looked quiet and empty.

The sun was burning hot. The air outside looked like it was moving from the heat. The temperature was clearly very high. Luckily, the shop stayed at a comfortable temperature. If she went out there, she might get cooked in the heat.

But if there were no people outside, how could her shop get customers. Sadly, she couldn't decide where the shop appeared in that world. Once it opened in one place, it stayed there. She had no way to move it. So she could only wait.

Looking at the empty streets, Tracy started to feel disappointed. Even with a magic shop, it didn't help if no one came. The shop's only function was to sell items to people from that world. But if there were no people, then nothing could be sold.

Still, Tracy wasn't ready to give up. Just because no one was there now didn't mean no one would come. So she stayed inside the shop, reading novels on her phone and waiting for customers.

The world connected to Tracy's shop had once been a normal modern city just like Earth. But one day, a meteor shower brought a strange virus. That virus destroyed everything.

At first, people just had fevers and got sick. Later, they fell into a coma and then died. But death wasn't the scariest part. The worst part was that the dead people stood up again. They turned into walking corpses that attacked the living and ate their flesh. Just like zombies.

Anyone who got bitten or scratched by them would also get infected. The virus spread very fast. The world lost control. Zombies filled the cities. The people who were still alive had to fight to stay alive.

Later, some survivors developed resistance. They couldn't be infected just by breathing the air. That gave humans a small chance to keep living. But the situation was still very bad. There were too many zombies. And they were getting stronger. It was hard to kill them. The remaining humans had to build small safe bases just to survive.
