The elderly man held out his hand, his skin papery and thin. Viviana took it gently, her fingers finding his pulse point. She closed her eyes, her brow furrowing in concentration as she listened to the steady beat.
After a moment, she opened her eyes, a small frown on her face.
"Your pulse is a bit weak," she said, her voice soft but firm.
"But that's to be expected given your age and recent surgeries. The pills I've prescribed should help strengthen it."
She turned to Li Yihan, her expression serious.
"He needs to take it easy, Mr. Li. No strenuous activity, plenty of rest, and a balanced diet. I'll come back to check on him in a few days."
Li Yihan nodded, his eyes never leaving Viviana's face. There was a look of admiration in his gaze, a respect that went beyond mere gratitude.
"Thank you, Dr. Ling," he said, his voice low and sincere.
"You've done more than enough for my family. We are forever in your debt."
"No need you paid me and I do my job," Viviana said as she opened her phone. She then turned around Li Yihan followed her.
"Miss Ling."
"Don't call me that my last name is no longer there just call me Viviana," Viviana said.
"I see what kind of diet should my grandfather have?" Li Yihan asked he licked his lips gently. Viviana turned around and grabbed a piece of paper she wrote down what the old man needed to eat and not only that Viviana had writing was so beautiful.
"Follow instructions and you won't need to see much of me," Viviana said and walked out of the hospital room the taxi back to the skateboard park.
Li Yihan watched Viviana leave, his eyes lingering on her retreating form. He couldn't help but admire her confidence, her skill, her beauty. She was unlike anyone he had ever met, a rare gem in a world of ordinary stones.
He turned back to his grandfather, handing him the list Viviana had written. The old man took it, his eyes widening as he read the elegant script.
"This girl... she's something else," he murmured, a hint of admiration in his voice.
Li Yihan nodded, a small smile playing on his lips.
"Yes, she is," he agreed.
"You brat all you know how to do is make money build more and more companies! Your grandmother and I want to hold our future grandchildren in our arms!" Li Cho Wong snapped at his grandson who looked at his grandfather indifferently.
"Grandpa, you and grandma gave birth to thirteen kids whom are all my aunts and uncles and all of them are married my father is the patriarch of the Li Family Dynasty has nine kids and I the third child, you have so many grandkids why is it me you want to marry off?" Li Yihan asked as he pulled out a cigarette he opened the window and he lit as he started to blew out a smoke he loosen his tie as white collarbone showed.
"You brat! I like that little girl I want her to be my granddaughter in law!?" Li Cho Wong whined like a child.
"Grandpa first I must cancel the engagement with the Ling Family, honestly why bother with them!" Li Yichen asked he was truly annoyed.
"Because it was a promise I made! Fine you cancel it but you must pay them so when I die and I meet Henji Ling, he won't curse me!"
"Fine," Li Yihan said he felt like a headache was coming thank goodness his grandmother wasn't here if both of them gashed about marriage again he really will go back to Japan!
He stayed with his grandfather for a while longer, ensuring he was comfortable and settled. But his mind kept drifting back to Viviana, to the way she had taken charge, the way she had cared for his grandfather with such expertise and tenderness.
As he finally left the hospital, he found himself wondering about her, about her past, her present, her future. He wanted to know everything about her, to unravel the mystery that was Viviana Ling.
But for now, he would be patient. He wanted to learn from her not from checking her background without her knowing.
Kai drove carefully, his eyes flicking between the road and his sleeping sister. He couldn't believe he had lost her at the skate park. If their parents found out, they would kill him.
As he pulled into the driveway, he carefully scooped Viviana into his arms, carrying her inside. He managed to sneak her up to their shared bedroom without being seen.
He laid her gently on her bed, pulling the covers over her. As he stood there, watching her sleep, he felt a surge of protectiveness. He had always looked out for his siblings, but there was something different about Viviana. Maybe it was because they were twins, or maybe it was because she was just so... unique.
Whatever it was, he knew he would do anything to keep her safe, to make sure she was happy. Even if it meant keeping secrets from their parents.
He sat down on the edge of her bed, brushing a strand of hair from her face. She looked so peaceful, so innocent. He wished he could protect her from the world, from all the ugliness and cruelty he knew existed.
Kai walked out as he walked down the stairs there was a female voice it was Hina Rosenzweig.
"Brother!" Hina said as she hugged her brother and Kai patted her head gently.
"You must be tired you rest up."
"Yes yes, mom, dad I will take some sleep I will see you in the morning!" Hina said as she walked up the stairs she felt so happy to be back home there is only a month and half before school starts which is her last year of high school after that it will be college. Hina was beautiful she has blonde hair and deep blue eyes as she sat down. Her eyes slightly narrowed.
