Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Goblins are all EXP!

Riselia knew very well—the top priority right now was rescuing the group member in danger.

Compared to Void Beasts, these green-skinned goblins lacked overwhelming pressure.

The only issue...

Was their numbers.

Far beyond anything she expected.

With no Holy Sword of her own yet, she calmly drew her magic handgun—

And got ready to fight.

"Filthy creatures..."

With a slight frown on her face, Riselia relentlessly pulled the trigger of her magitek pistol—which required no reloading. The barrage of uninterrupted bullets easily pierced through the goblins.

They didn't even have the chance to scream.

In mere moments, nearly ten goblins had been slaughtered. Blood sprayed from bullet holes as their lifeless bodies collapsed to the ground.

"So this is a magitek device...?"

Shirakawa's understanding of Riselia's world was shallow. The arcane arts that once existed in her world had been forgotten over the long passage of time.

In their place rose advanced and intricate magitek technology.

Even an ordinary person—

As long as they could wield a magitek weapon proficiently, they could unleash tremendous power in battle. Taking down goblins like these was a simple matter.

"These are all experience points, after all."

Shirakawa had no intention of sitting back and letting his teammates carry the fight. In the real world, he'd used his Holy Sword to exorcise spirits purely to grind class experience.

Now that he was in the Goblin Slayer world...

In some sense, he could finally cut loose.

Among the Holy Sword wielder's basic skills was "Mana Infusion"—a concept he could intuitively grasp.

He concentrated on enhancing himself.

Drawing out the mana coursing through his body after awakening as a superhuman class, he let it surge into his limbs.

Mana Infusion.

As the skill activated, the feedback to his body was visceral. He felt light, almost weightless, and filled with explosive power.

Without even altering his running stance—

His now-enhanced physique allowed him to appear before the goblins in the blink of an eye. He swung his Holy Sword.

All Things of Creation .

It was a plain, unembellished strike, yet in the darkness of the cave, a crimson arc of energy flashed through the air—accompanied by the thud of goblin corpses hitting the ground.

Every goblin around Shirakawa was torn to pieces.

The rest of the goblins, watching hungrily from afar, shrank back the moment they sensed the overwhelming pressure he exuded. Cowardice got the better of them.

[You have slain a Goblin. EXP +130.]

[You have slain a Rock-Throwing Goblin. EXP +150.]

...

The constant notifications of gained experience sent a thrill through Shirakawa. Compared to the ghosts and monsters he faced in the real world...

These goblins were practically living experience packs!

"Maybe I can max out the Holy Sword class right here?"

As she mowed down goblins with her magitek pistol, Riselia never forgot to observe the battlefield. But when she saw what the so-called "ordinary high schooler" was doing—

She was briefly stunned.

"This..."

"That Holy Sword is absurdly powerful, isn't it?"

Riselia couldn't help but question what she was seeing. Despite having just started as a Holy Sword user, and without much combat training...

He was annihilating goblins as a mere human?

This was the power she had yearned for—yet even as a noble bearing the bloodline of the Holy Sword, she had never managed to awaken it.

It had almost become her inner demon...

Quickly, Riselia refocused her attention. She scanned the cave, noting the significantly reduced number of goblins.

Some of the more cunning goblins had already retreated. Only a few remained, unwilling to abandon their prey—these were easy to deal with.

"..."

Without Shirakawa needing to say a word, Riselia already understood their priority: to clean up the remaining goblins and escape the encirclement.

Meanwhile, Lianne Viviette, a Gold-ranked adventurer, finally had a moment to catch her breath. Her azure eyes turned toward Shirakawa and Riselia.

Through the Dimensional Chat Group, she had learned the context of this rescue. The 'future Holy Sword wielder' and 'ordinary high schooler' had come from another world to save her.

But...

After witnessing the battle just now, Liane's emotions were far from calm. She too had once tried to awaken as a Holy Sword user.

Only to fail.

She had always held high expectations for the strength of her future chat group friend. But what shook her the most was Shirakawa.

His combat against the goblins...

It was real.

Lianne had no idea what kind of student he was back in his world, but it was getting harder to associate the word "ordinary" with Shirakawa.

With the goblins in the cave fully eradicated—

She bowed deeply, along with her adventurer companions, to Riselia and Shirakawa. "Thank you both for coming all this way to save me."

Shirakawa casually finished off the last goblin feigning death.

He wasn't too concerned. With these kills, his experience bar had now reached 63%. He was close to hitting Level 4.

Completing the rescue would earn group points and level-ups. He might even discover some unexpected rewards in the Goblin Slayer world.

Interfering with the world's natural progression—

In a way, it was a kind of achievement. If not for the Dimensional Chat Group, the original Goblin Slayer timeline would have continued unimpeded.

In ten years' time—

This young woman before him would rise to become the Holy Maiden of the Sword, and the Archbishop of the Temple of Law.

Thinking that far ahead, Shirakawa once again studied the girl before him carefully. As a swordswoman, her armor was already worn and battered.

Her face—beautiful like an elf's, though clearly fatigued—held a quiet, dignified strength.

Those clear blue eyes, like stars in the night sky... What a waste it would be to cover them with a black blindfold.

Shirakawa shook his head lightly. "It's nothing."

Noticing his gaze, Lianne didn't feel any sense of violation. Rather, it felt like... sincere admiration?

Unable to meet the eyes of the handsome young man before her, her heart fluttered. She quickly changed the topic. "I'm Lianne Viviette, Gold-ranked adventurer. These are my companions."

"I am Riselia Ray Cristalia."

"Shirakawa."

Having now learned the future Sword Maiden's name, Shirakawa offered a brief introduction, then shifted his focus back to the goblin den.

The rescue mission wasn't over yet.

And with all these juicy EXP goblins around, leaving them would be a complete waste of his visit to this world.

"There are still goblins in the cave."

Without asking anyone's permission, Shirakawa calmly said, "Let's finish off these disgusting things."
