Chapter 13 - Ch. 13 - Aftermath!

"What are you doing here?!" As they both yelled in unison, something or someone landed in front of Fushiguro.

It's body as small as a baby but head as large as a car's front.

It's illogical how the body can even balance itself not to mention, standing in a way that it doesn't tilt to a side.

"Another Cursed Spirit?" Kenshin muttered to himself.

Fushiguro's face turned dark after hearing his words.

'I knew it. There's another cursed spirit somewhere. Fighting two isn't exactly ideal.' Wiping off the blood that trickled down from his nose, putting a red smudge on his face, Fushiguro stood and placed Kenshin behind his back intending to protect him.

Clasping his hands together to form a dog's face, Fushiguro summoned his first Shikigamis.

A twin of divine dogs!

Fwwoooshhh!

Fushiguro's shadow moved and swirled around him like a liquid, forming the appearance of two wolf-like Shikigamis with distinct colors in their appearance.

On the left was a black coloured dog while on the right is the exact opposite in color, which is white.

Awoooo!

The two dogs howled in unison, putting themselves in a ready stance, waiting for their master's order.

"Go!" Finally, when Megumi gave the word, the two divine dogs rushed forward, taking each of the Cursed Spirit's sides.

The black dog took the first bite, clamping its jaw on the cursed spirit's left arm.

On the other hand, the white dog jumped and used its sharp claws to attack the spirit's unusually large head.

The cursed spirit tried to dodge the combined attacks however perhaps because it was a newborn, thr cursed spirit's physical abilities aren't that great compared to two experienced Shikigamis.

SCREEECH!

The spirit cried out in pain before lashing out, opening its mouth and its tongue extending in unimaginable speeds.

The first one to be attacked was the black divine dog, who was forced to abandon his attack and dodge.

BOOM!

The white dog on the other hand, made a choice to strike the spirit's long tongue.

Slice!

Clang!

Much to everyone's surprise, the sticky tongue turned out to be durable than they expected as the divine dog's claws, capable to slashing even through steel, were unable to slice it.

The Cursed Spirit gave the white divine dog a grin before another tongue appeared out from the depths of its mouth.

Fushiguro's eyes widened in surprise, clearly not expecting the cursed spirit to actually have two tongues.

"There might be more than just two." Behind him, Kenshin whispered to Fushiguro, sharing his assumptions, hoping it would help him defeat the cursed spirit as soon as possible.

If push comes to shove and Fushiguro fails at killing the cursed spirit, Kenshin would be left with no choice but to reveal his capabilities as much as he doesn't want to.

Fushiguro nodded his head, appreciating the gesture.

In fact, he already had it in mind even if Kenshin didn't remind him.

The cursed spirit, out of anger, used both of its tongue and combined them, forming a huge one but with a sharp tip.

Fwoosh!

It attacked the white dog. The speed of its attack was so fast that it pierced through the white divine dog's shoulder, combined with the cursed spirit's saliva's acidic properties, the white divine dog found itself in great pain.

Whimper!

"No!" Fushiguro cried out in worry, rushing forward with reckless abandon.

This is the first time his divine dog were injured like this. Mostly their injuries consists of bruises and such but not deep penetration.

The black divine dog, seeing his kin injured, howled in anger before rushing towards the cursed spirit.

"This guy…" Kenshin's mouth twitched several times at such a reckless move.

After seeing your pet injured you're losing your calm

already?

From the looks of it, Fushiguro during this time is still wet behind the ears compared to his future self who is ready to summon Mahoraga from episode one.

Fushiguro's shadows swirled again and this time, he took out a blade out of it before swinging it at the cursed spirit.

Kenshin squinted his eyes at the blade, sensing its ominous energy.

'That blade's not normal.' He concluded, making a note to himself to ask Fushiguro about it later.

Thankfully, the blade was sharp enough to slice through the thick tongue, causing it to land on the ground while thr sticky substance melted the floor.

Screech!

The spirit cried out in pain and jumped out of the way, putting as much distance as possible away from Fushiguro.

However, Fushiguro isn't its only enemy, the black divine dog, bidding its time, emerged from out of nowhere and pinned the spirit on the ground.

Fushiguro made his move and jumped in the air, raising his blade before bringing it down on the spirit's neck.

Slash!

Letting out a one last cry, the Cursed Spirit gave Fushiguro a glare before vanishing in motes of black particles.

Behind them, Kenshin silently sighed in relief before leaving without saying goodbye.

As much as possible, he doesn't want to involve himself with Fushiguro and the guy behind him.

As Kenshin left swiftly, Fushiguro remained in the cinema, watching over the injury of his white divine dog.

"You should go to rest now." He muttered and patted the Shikigami before calling them both back to his shadow.

Only then did he notice that he's alone in the cinema, with Kenshin nowhere to be seen.

"That guy.…I still have a few questions to ask from him!" Fushiguro's lips quivered and he clenched his fists before reluctantly sighing.

"Does it matter? I'm gonna need some rest."

It's been an hour since the cinema was evacuated and despite being told to go home, Sawako forced herself to stay. If she knew it would escalate to this, she might've tried her best to convince Kenshin to come with him.

Fortunately, it didn't take long before someone came behind her and tapped her shoulders.

Looking back, her eyes widened in surprise upon seeing Kenshin, all covered in dust and soot.

"Are you okay?" Kenshin asked her worriedly, making her go in a panic mode.

"M-Me? O-Of course I'm fine! Wait. I'm the one who's supposed to be asking you that! You were inside for an hour! Are you sure you're not hurt? Maybe I should tell the police that you're out." Before she could go and do just that, Kenshin held her hand and stopped her.

"Don't! I'll be fine! Look, I just want to apologize. I wasn't expecting something like this to happen. How about this, we can resume our date for tomorrow or next week, depends if you're still free, is that okay?" Kenshin nervously looked into her eyes, expecting her to deny and refuse to have another date with him.

Much to his surprise however, her face beamed up and she happily nodded her head.

"Sure! Next Monday, I'll be free."

With both sides beaming in happiness, Kenshin insisted on bringing her to her home.

Honestly, her home isn't that far. All it takes is a single ride of the bus and a few minutes of walking before arriving in front of a modest yet comfortable home.

Standing in front of the door, Sawako was about to say goodbye to Kenshin when suddenly, the door opens.

"Ahh! Sawako-chan! You're finally back! Ara?~ who's this guy with you?" It was Sawako's mother, who was just about to take out the trash.

"O-O-Oka-san!" Sawako quickly turned around with a heavy blush and pushed her mother inside, dragging herself along too before the door closed, leaving Kenshin awkwardly standing alone outside.

"….The weather looks nice today…."

***

"Hmm…Two Grade 3 spirits being born in the same place at the same time…." Satoru Gojo, world's strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer, a pillar of humanity, and a teacher of Megumi Fushiguro.

After explaining everything about what happened at the cinema, Satoru fell into a deep contemplation.

'Although such cases aren't that rare, but also not common. It can only mean two things. Either someone purposely summoned or helped give birth to them or there's a strong cursed energy object or item in the place that caused the place to give birth to two grade 3 cursed spirits.'

Satoru could rule out the latter. If such object exists in the place, the Jujutsu Society would've detected it sooner. The fact that they didn't means it doesn't exist or it is sealed, with the latter being even more impossible because if it is sealed, then it wouldn't give birth to two cursed spirits.

'No item then. Which leaves to one thing. Someone purposely or accidentally summoned them.' He came to a conclusion.

Now all that's left is to find out who.

'No. It couldn't be him. It must've been someone else.' A certain man came to Satoru's mind and he quickly denied it.

"Fushiguro-kun. Can you tell me more about that boy you met?"

Once Kenshin got home, he jumped on his bed and opened his stats.

[Name: Alistair Abara, Kuroki Kenshin

Age: 12,690, 15

Class: Hero

Titles: Evil Slayer

Strength: 15

Magic: 17

Agility: 15

Durability: 15

Constitution: 15

Mind: 16]

"As I expected. Engaging in battle would increase my stats tremendously compared to training." Kenshin muttered to himself.

In fact, he did the same thing back in the world of Fantazio. At his first few years, he only trained but when he discovered that he could get almost triple of the benefits he gets from training through real-time battles, let's just say he became a battle maniac.

No master swordsman, knight, mage was spared from him across the entire continent.

Don't even mention the monsters, beasts and evil spirits he hunted like a predator to the point that a rumor spread across the world.

That he single-handedly reduced the population of the monsters by 5%, beasts by 7% and evil spirits by 4%, a feat that propelled all of his stats to four digits.

Unfortunately, he can't do the same thing here, as monsters and beasts probably doesn't exist here and even if it does, it's not worth hunting them down.

Then there's also the Evil Spirits who seemed to be more prominent in this world than in the world of Fantazio, giving Kenshin a chance to grind his stats whenever the available time he has.

'I guess I can finally wield the enchanted sword.' Kenshin muttered under his breath before taking out the said sword out of his inventory.

The shaft of the blade gleamed under the sunlight peeking through the gap of the curtains, giving the sword a sparkle.

"Killing Cursed Spirits would be easy now." After that, Kenshin proceeded to scroll through the inventory, trying to see if there's any armor or at least some sort of protection that could give him some sort of damage reduction from his future enemies.

It didn't take long before he found something worthwhile.

[Necklace of the Mountain Troll

- Made from the sturdy heart of the Mountain Troll, wearing this Necklace would grant the wearer 30% damage reduction from physical attacks.]

"This should be good enough." He muttered to himself. He took it out and the first thing he noticed was its bulky appearances

"Yeah, probably not. Maybe I should only wear it before going on a battle." Kenshin's face grimaced just by imagining himself walking in public with such a large and attention-seeking necklace.

"Definitely not."
