Chapter 24: Monsters in sheepfold.
"Why should it be sister in law's step brother? Huh?". Maxson asked annoyingly.
"You don't have to take any move for now". Scott said in between smoking. "I'll ask Joel to start watching him closely, when there is a need to act, I'll let you know". Maxson nodded his head in agreement.
"Then I'll disperse some of our men to watch and protect Joan".
"Yeah that's okay for now. We need to act sensibly, Flora's step family might have a hand in her parent's death. Though I am still investigating". Scott said, thinking of Flora.
"You mean it? Wow! I never expected these people to be too cruel, no wonder he treats Joan that way, monsters in sheepfold!". Maxson cursed.
As the two brothers were discussing, Flora was passing by the study room when she heard the name Ryain Royce. She stood still thinking of what her step brother had done to them. She stood at the door calmly, listening to their conversation.
When she heard the sound of someone pushing the chair in the room, she quickly left where she was. Aria had sat down in the living room, playing with her phone and waiting for her sister in law.
The staircase was tiled with beautiful golden paint, Flora strolled down the stairs, lost in thought. "Has Ryain committed any offense? Do I need to ask about it from Scott? She thought within herself and decided to ask him about it.
"You guys should wait and have dinner with us before leaving". Flora smiled at Maxson and Aria, it was almost 7pm, she urged them to wait as she went inside the kitchen to oversee the dishes, Aria also went in to assist her and the servants.
"Hope you guys will be home tomorrow, I and your brother would be paying the family a visit". Flora said while eating.
She noticed the two brothers never speak while eating, maybe that was the way they were brought up.
"Sis, sure, we would be home". Aria answered with interest. "Sure sis". Maxson answered briefly.
"Hey! Why do you answer sister in law that way?". Aria questioned her brother. "Why do I have a sister like you? Don't you get it? This food is too delicious, I want to enjoy it so much". Maxson said sighing.
"Huh? I thought you complained about me eating too much, who needs an advice now?". She puffed and continue eating.
"Hey!hey! Don't think because big brother is here, I can't discipline you". He replied jokingly.
"Discipline who? You think I am still a kid?". Aria said dropping her spoon. Scott just continued eating, looking at Flora from time to time, he could not wait for his two annoying siblings to leave.
"Big bro! I can't tolerate this brother of yours anymore". She shouted, about to cry.
"Hmm, don't worry he can't do anything to you, as long as I am your big bro". Scott said smiling at Aria.
Flora bursted into laughter, the display between Aria and Maxson always make her happy. "Maxson, Aria is a lady you know, moreover, the last baby of the house. I think you should always obey and respect her". She said holding Aria's left hand.
"Because of sister in law, I'll forgive you". He said apologetically and pouted his mouth.
"Okay then, let us resume eating. I have forgiven you but I'll still report to mum though". She laughed gently, giving him a funny expression.
After dinner, the siblings left for the Silver family mansion, they had a great time at the couple's residence.

At Monument bar & club, Ryain had left his office at the restaurant so early, he was used to having fun with several girls everyday, he love to club and bully girls.
He never Iiked Joan, he just sees her as a threat. She was always giving excuses whenever she asks him to do anything, isn't he the boss? So why would she always complain.
He has been looking for different means to deploy her, but his brother in law wasn't giving him that chance, he told him they can't be short of staffs for now.
He was so pissed off and always go to the club to clear his head. Tonight, he was seen rocking two ladies in their sexy outfits.
After a long time, he became tired and decided to rest. "You girls are so hot, I promise to give you a special treatment tonight". He said holding both ladies to himself.
"Really? I'll surely let you have a taste of something special tonight also". Charlie said smiling.
"Hmmm, I trust you". Ryain replied.
As he was about kissing one of the girls, he remembered he hasn't told Joan to go home. "Girls, I'll be back". He said and left briefly.
"Hello Joan, never, I mean never, never leave the restaurant until I say so". He shouted on her and cut the call.
Joan got confused, what kind of man is this? Others are about to leave and she would have to stay? Maxson already gave her a job in Silver Group, but she had insisted people would say she got the job through the crooked means.
He had tried persuading and convincing her, but it had been abortive.
She thought of what to do, she picked her phone and called Maxson. As the phone was ringing she cut the call.
She took her bag and left for home. "Whatever will happen should happen, I don't care anymore". She left for home.
Maxson was not with his phone when Joan called, he was under the shower enjoying the coldness of the water.
When he came out of shower, he saw her missed call, as he was about calling her back, Scott call came in.
"Joel just called me, he said Ryain forbidded Joan from going home, until he tells her to". Scott said calmly.
"Fuck! Why would this devil move freely? I just saw Joan's call now, I missed her call just now, she might have want to inform me about it.
"Call her to check on her, tell her to go home and you visit her tomorrow. It high time she quit the job". Scott explained.
