Chapter 60 - Chapter 60 – A Meeting of Fire and Potential

The morning sun cast a golden hue over the Hokage Tower, washing the walls in light. Ren Uzumaki stood before its doors, calm as always, with his hands in his pockets. Today, he had something important to say.

After checking in with the ANBU guards, Ren was led up the familiar winding staircase to the Third Hokage's office. Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Professor, sat behind his desk with scrolls neatly stacked to one side and a pipe resting untouched nearby.

"Ren," the old man greeted with a nod, eyes slightly curious. "You asked for an audience."

Ren bowed politely. "Yes, Lord Hokage."

"Come in. Sit."

Ren stepped forward, standing straight even after the offer. "It's about my chakra nature. I've confirmed it."

Hiruzen raised an eyebrow, leaning forward. "Go on."

"I can use all five basic chakra natures. I haven't mastered them, but the affinity is there. I'm currently focusing on fire and wind. Arata-sensei knows. He said it would be best if I told you myself."

The room fell into a brief silence. Hiruzen studied the boy quietly — calm voice, steady eyes, humble posture. So different from his brother, and yet… not entirely.

"A rare gift," Hiruzen finally said. "Even among Jōnin, having more than two chakra natures is uncommon. All five... that places you among the exceptional."

Ren gave a small nod, offering nothing else.

"And what is it you want from me, Ren?" Hiruzen asked, though the glint in his eye said he already had a guess.

Ren smiled slightly. "Guidance. And... an increase in our monthly allowance. Naruto eats too much."

Hiruzen chuckled, genuinely amused. "So your brother's spirit lives in you after all."

The Hokage leaned back in his chair and stared at the ceiling for a moment, deep in thought.

"He's disciplined. Gifted. Quiet. Minato's blood shows strongly in him..."

Then Hiruzen turned back, stroking his beard.

"There is a technique I once considered passing down to Minato's children — the Flying Thunder God Technique. But not yet. It's too soon."

He looked at Ren seriously.

"Instead, I will tell you of something else — the Rasengan. A jutsu your father created."

Ren's eyes narrowed just slightly with interest.

"It requires intense chakra control and shaping, not nature transformation. I won't explain it fully now," Hiruzen added. "I want to see what you do with what little I give you. Think of it as a test."

Ren nodded. "Understood."

Hiruzen gave a soft smile.

"You're a quiet storm, Ren. I wonder how far the wind will carry you."

As Ren turned to leave the office, the Third Hokage returned to his scrolls — but his mind was far away, drifting to memories of yellow hair, blue eyes, and a legacy reborn in silence.

"The sons of Minato Namikaze… are beginning to move."
