Ximena stared at the werewolf male in shock. "Excuse me?!"
"You're meant to start by introducing yourself first before explaining the situation." The dragon sighed, shaking his head at the werewolf.
"Oh look at someone trying-" The werewolf started, but Ximena was already annoyed.
"Look!" She said as loudly as possible, trying not to wake her son. "I'm not in the mood for whatever this is so could one of you get to the point and explain what's going on here."
"Gladly." The vampire responded. "About two years ago all four of us met at a beach party and someone was impassioned… Turns out that passionate encounter created a bond for each of us. And a child it seems."
Ximena felt the blood drain from her face. There was only one beach party she had gone to two years ago. One that had left pregnant with Nikolas. She had thought she had slept with one person but to think she slept with three?!
What kind of drug had Amara put in her drink to make her that crazy?! No wonder her body was so sore the day afterwards.
"Careful." The dragon said, grabbing her shoulders.
"Sorry… I just need a moment…" Ximena murmured, completely lost in thought. "Keys are in my back pocket."
The dragon seemed to understand what she meant and quickly reached into the back pocket of her jeans, pulling out her keys. He opened the door and Ximena swiftly made a beeline for a seat, not wanting to collapse from the shock.
She fell on the leather couch, her legs finally giving out. Her mind, meanwhile, was trying to come to terms with what she had just heard.
Three mates?
She wasn't even interested in having one and now she had three mates. And from the looks of it they were all powerful supernatural beings. She guessed that was for the best but it also meant…
She hadn't broken the law.
Ximena felt tears dripping down her face. She quickly tried to wipe them before they fell on Nikolas and disturbed him.
She suddenly felt a giant, warm hand on her face. She looked up to see the dragon crouching down with a concerned look. The other two flanked him also had looks of worry on their faces.
"Is being our mate that bad?" The werewolf asked nervously.
"N-no… It's just a lot to… process." Ximena cried.
She wasn't ready to tell them about her banishment, but didn't want to completely lie to them either. So, she settled with a half-truth because it was a lot to process. She could get that banishment removed.
Her sister's scheme had completely failed and she had proof now. Evidence that had come to her doorstep.
"It's okay…" The dragon paused for a moment. "Can I take him?"
Ximena looked at the dragon through her blurry vision for a moment before nodding. She didn't want Nikolas to see her ugly cry or risk him waking up while they spoke. Because she needed to talk with them.
They had said she was their mate and she needed to clear that up.
"It's the first door to your left." Ximena said, handing her baby to the dragon.
He nodded in understanding, gently taking Nikolas, one hand holding his head while the other held his lower back. The dragon then stood up and walked away just as Ximena started to calm herself down.
A few moments later, all four were seated in the living room. Ximena had finally gotten control of her emotions and was ready to talk to them.
"Okay… so we bonded two years ago at that party." Ximena murmured, wanting to get an understanding of the situation.
"Yes… but I think we should introduce ourselves first." The dragon said. "It seems like you've forgotten about everything."
"Well…" Ximena paused for a moment, trying to figure out how she was going to explain that. "I lost my memories of most of that night. It's why I didn't recognize you… Also the name's Ximena."
"Lucas." The vampire said.
The dragon then answered. "Ivan."
"And Sebastian. But you can call me Seb." The werewolf finally answered.
"Lucas, Ivan and Seb. Got it." Ximena mumbled, letting the names roll on her tongue.
"Yes… So, back to the topic." Ivan said. "We're all mates and one of us is your child's father… We knew about this for a while after Seb stumbled onto your scent-"
"My scent?" Ximena asked curiously.
"Yeah… You smell like the ocean but there was a weird scent concealing it. Making it hard to properly track down." Seb explained. "It's probably why we took so long to find you."
"Well we were lucky to find you seeing as you're a siren." Lucas muttered.
"I take it you stayed on land because of the child." Ivan asked.
"Um… yeah…" Ximena answered.
It suddenly dawned on her that she couldn't return to the Siren Kingdom. Nikolas would be unable to survive in the ocean without siren magic. This made things complicated.
"I see..." Ivan said. "Anyway, we decided to take this slow. Having one of us as a mate can be… a lot so we can only imagine what three means. We're also willing to accept being with only one of us… specifically the father of your child."
"What do you mean by a lot?" Ximena asked, wondering where this was going.
"What Ivan's trying to say is you've got a Lycan Prince, Dragon Prince and Vampire King all as mates." Seb stated. "Not exactly the best situation with all of us trying to dominate… It's why we took a while to speak to you and leave the choice to you."
"All we ask is that you give some time to get to know us before deciding." Lucas added. "Say until the test results for the kid come out."
The room fell silent as Ximena tried to process everything. The paternity test results would take six months and to be around three powerful males for that period of time.
Ximena wasn't sure about accepting it. But she also wanted to know her child's father now that she had the chance to. She knew Nikolas would get curious about it one day.
Of course she could give him the better option of having his father around. Ximena had the opportunity to give that to him now. She couldn't deny it from him.
"Alright… We can have some kind of living arrangement until the test results. I'll make my decision afterward."
