In today's so-called non-violent society, fights are rare—but not impossible. Accidents happen. And people's emotions? Impossible to predict. That's why every school has an infirmary.
DAV High School, being one of the top schools in the city, is no exception. Whether it's an illness, injury, or a hidden scuffle, the infirmary handles everything… and reports directly to the school committee.
It was now around 10:00 AM. The weather outside remained as scorching as ever.
Inside the cool infirmary, on one of the beds, a boy lay unconscious. His messy black hair was still uncombed, his clothes rumpled, and his tanned skin glistened slightly with sweat.
Of course—it was Xiao Tian. He had fainted after hearing Tyrant Teacher Zhu's punishment and was carried here by school staff.
"Student Xiao… Student Xiao… Student Xiao…"A pleasant, sweet voice called out to him gently.
But Xiao Tian remained unresponsive.
The owner of the voice sighed, her patience running out.
SPLASH!
A mug of cold water hit his face.
"G-Grandma, please don't—!" Xiao Tian suddenly bolted up, coughing. But the moment he opened his eyes and saw who was standing in front of him… he froze.
"So I'm your grandma now, huh?" the girl snapped, her tone sharp but playful.
She grabbed his ear and twisted it hard.
"Aaah! Sister Li! Sister Li! Don't! I'm soooorrryyyy!!"
"You're awake now, huh? Sister Li?! Really? You dare call me that again?!"
She twisted his ear harder.
"Aaah! S-Sorry, Li Ling! Li Ling!!" Xiao Tian shouted, completely awake now.
The one pulling his ear was a stunningly pretty girl, around 17—about the same age as Xiao Tian. She wore a crisp white medical coat, her long black hair cascading down her shoulders, and her fair skin almost glowing under the infirmary's lights. Her cherry-pink lips were enough to make someone forget to breathe.
She was Li Ling, the second most beautiful girl in DAV High School.
If Su Han was a goddess from ice, Li Ling was a goddess of light and mystery. And strangely enough, no one dared mess with her—even the Four Young Masters of the school feared her temper.
"Xiao Tian, how many times have I told you—don't call me 'Sister Li'. Just 'Li Ling'. Got it?"
"Okay, Sister—Li Ling… next time," he corrected himself quickly.
"You…" She paused, sighed, and gave up. "Just leave it."
Xiao Tian never understood why Li Ling, this cold and aloof school beauty, insisted he call her by her full name, while everyone else had to call her "Sister Li" or "Big Sister Li."
Even more bizarre: high-ranking officials from the city and even the state treated her with respect. There were rumors that her background was so powerful, even the school principal treated her differently.
But in front of Xiao Tian… she behaved like a normal teenage girl.Honestly? That gave him a headache.
"…Okay, then. Starting tomorrow, come to the library after school," Li Ling suddenly ordered.
"Bu… But I have to clean—" Xiao Tian started.
"No buts," she cut him off. "You must come. Or else…"
She glared at him.
"…Okay," he mumbled.
"I can't hear you," she said, smirking.
"Okay!" he repeated, louder.
"Good boy." She nodded with satisfaction.
RING! RING!Li Ling's phone buzzed.
She glanced at the screen. "I have some urgent business. Be on time tomorrow. You can rest here a bit longer if you want—but lock the infirmary and give the key to the teacher when you leave, okay?"
"Got it," Xiao Tian said softly.
With a graceful wave, Li Ling left.
Xiao Tian lay back down and rested for another hour. By the time he woke up, it was 1:30 PM.
He left the infirmary, locked it carefully, and handed the key to the teacher on duty.
It was lunchtime. His stomach rumbled as he walked toward his class building.
But then—he heard a mocking voice behind him:
"Yo! Toilet Master! Our Young Master wants to see you!"
Xiao Tian turned around.
Five boys were approaching him, laughing and jeering.
Trouble was coming.
