Chapter 1 - A Village Facing Threat! His Name is Okiji!

A brand new day crested upon the village of Bay Harbor. The humble settlement sat on a small hillside on the northern coast of Heart Island. Even calling it a humble settlement would be an overstatement. The village barely had one hundred inhabitants living in it. They were dispersed quite evenly amongst the straw cottages that lie around the miles of farmland they possessed.

They did, however, have a quite prominent town marketplace. There, many merchants from neighboring settlements (that were somehow even smaller than this one) set up their own shops, hoping to use Bay Harbor as a sort of hub of trade.

Despite the fact that the sun was barely even out yet, the traders were already getting busy with their work, hoisting signs, stocking products, and advertising their goods to the early risers. In all the chaos, it was hard to notice any crime, so the sheer amount of thieves that passed through the Bay Harbor marketplace everyday was uncountable.

A man stepped out into the street. He wore a tan fedora, a trench coat, and sunglasses. On his back, he carried two rapiers, crossing his torso to form an "X" shape. He took a few steps down the street, passing by numerous preoccupied vendors. Finally, he came to a stop at a random shop.

The woman there, eager to sell her goods, started advertising. "Hello, sir," she said. "Need any bedsheets? They're made from the finest linen on this side of the globe!" She shoved one of the folded sheets in his face, grinning unnervingly.

He leaned against the shelf, smiling himself. "No thanks. I actually had a question for you," he said, leaning closer. "Have any suspicious looking men come through here? I'm looking for one in particular. He stands about six and a half feet tall, green skin. He may have been covering it, though."

The woman backed off, clearly not interested in being tied up in this criminal affair. "Nope. Nobody's been here. Have a nice day, sir." The man sighed as he walked away, waving.

"You too," he said unenthusiastically, walking further down the street. He passed a few more vendors, asking each the same set of questions. He didn't have much hope for his cause, but he still refused to give up.

He continued down, passing through the now thickening crowd that occupied the marketplace. It was nearly midday at this point, and the man was about to give up. That's when he saw it.

Out of the corner of his eye, a man wearing all black piqued his interests. He started to follow the man, as they approached the central circle of the marketplace, where the crowd was the largest. However, as the cloaked man walked straight into the clearing of the crowd, the one pursuing him saw his chance.

As they both were out in the open, the man with the hat and sunglasses shouted in the direction of the cloaked man.

"Vyper, turn around. I know it's you there. Face me. Let's settle this fight." The cloaked man stopped dead in his tracks. He pivoted around, and looked up, revealing his form to be that of a snake. As he spoke, he emphasized the letter "s", as if he were slithering.

"Okiji, I see. You followed me all the way here," he said. "Well, good luck defeating me now. It's impossible." As he spoke, he removed the black cloak, revealing that he held dual machetes on his belt. Across the clearing, Okiji removed the rapiers from his back, preparing for a fight. The entire area was watching the fight now.

Something big was about to go down in the little town where nothing happened.
