At the Church of the Radiant God in Silvermoon City, a man with blonde hair and brown eyes stood before the church's grand doors.
The setting sun bathed him in golden light, making him look especially imposing.
"Lord Elias, there's been a small problem."
A knight clad in the Church of the Radiant God's special armor approached the man and bowed.
Marcus looked tense, clearly afraid of the man named Elias before him.
"If there's a problem, solve it. You still have one month. I trust you won't disappoint me, right?"
Elias's brown eyes lowered slightly as he looked down at Marcus standing on the stone steps.
"Yes! I understand, Lord Elias."
Marcus quickly responded.
Hearing Marcus's reply, Elias slowly nodded and turned to enter the church.
Only after Elias left did Marcus finally breathe a sigh of relief.
"Damn mudblood! You should just accept your fate. Why struggle in vain?"
Marcus cursed inwardly.
He didn't know how that mudblood called Logan got into the Arcane Spire, but he was certain it would bring him a lot of trouble.
Logan was unaware of what was happening on the church's side.
After his family moved into the Arcane Spire, he began studying magic under Gareth.
Some small incidents occurred during this time.
"I did it! Lord Gareth, I did it!"
A cheer echoed from the meditation room.
It was Aris, who after six days of effort, finally succeeded in meditating.
His blue eyes shone with the joy of success.
"Even if that mudblood succeeded first, I will definitely catch up to him!"
Aris thought confidently.
But when he came to the enchantment chamber where Lord Gareth was, all his joy vanished in an instant.
Inside, Logan was casting the zero-level spell Water Trace, a very simple magic that cleans dust from surfaces by condensing water vapor.
After mastering the zero-level spell Life Nourishment, Logan's speed in learning other zero-level spells accelerated greatly.
Besides Water Trace, he had already mastered Fire Spark from the fire discipline and Dust Mist from the earth discipline.
"No, this can't be..."
Aris stared at Logan in shock.
They entered the Arcane Spire together, so why was Logan always ahead of him?
He was supposed to be the most talented one!
"If you succeed in meditation, continue meditating to accumulate mana.
Come back to me when you feel you've reached your limit."
Gareth's attitude towards Aris was rather cold.
With a genius like Logan around, someone with Aris's talent naturally became expendable.
"Yes, Lord Gareth."
Aris's earlier excitement faded.
He gave Logan a reluctant glance before slowly leaving.
Logan in the room paid no mind to this.
Aris was no longer worth his attention.
"You have mastered most of the zero-level spells.
Next, you should increase your mana storage capacity.
But I recommend you buy some Mana Crystals—you'll need them later."
Gareth's advice was sound, but Logan wanted to learn more zero-level spells.
[Task 1: Collect all Water, Fire, Earth, Metal, Life, Undead, and Space magic]
[Reward: Title of All-Discipline Mage (gain all-discipline mage talents), Modification Value +7]
…
This task appeared for Logan after he learned his first zero-level spell.
It was the first time the Talent System issued a task, and the reward was very tempting for Logan.
According to Gareth's assessment, Logan only possessed talent for Life magic, so he was expected to specialize solely in Life magic.
On the Aurelia Continent, all mages specialize in one type of magic.
Most mages focus on just one discipline—those with Earth talent specialize in Earth spells, those with Fire talent specialize in Fire spells.
Only a very rare few genius mages have talents in two or even three types of magic.
Compared to single-discipline mages, multi-discipline mages have obvious advantages.
So it's easy to imagine how insanely powerful the system reward of all-discipline mage talent is.
No matter how talented others are, they only have two or three discipline talents at most, while Logan had a chance to gain talent in all disciplines!
Even the legendary mage god Doran only possessed talents in five disciplines.
So after Gareth left, Logan didn't leave the enchantment chamber.
He went to Gareth's bookshelf and pulled out a zero-level spell compendium, carefully studying it.
Zero-level spells were very weak—almost negligible in power.
Whether it was Water Trace from the Water discipline or Fire Spark from the Fire discipline, they were only useful for daily life assistance and useless in combat.
Therefore, the Mage Association of Aurelia Continent didn't strictly regulate zero-level spells.
This compendium recorded many zero-level spells.
Logan quickly learned the zero-level Metal spell Sharp Metal and the zero-level Undead spell Undead Whisper from it.
So far, Logan had learned six of the seven disciplines, with only the zero-level Space discipline spell remaining unstudied.
Logan flipped through the entire compendium but couldn't find any Space discipline spells, which left him somewhat frustrated.
He was only missing the zero-level Space spell to complete the task and gain the all-discipline magic talent.
"You said you want to study zero-level Space magic?"
Gareth asked Logan with a surprised expression.
His eyes looked at Logan strangely for a moment, then seemed to realize something and relaxed.
"Space magic is different from the others.
If you have talent for Space magic, you don't need to go through the mage apprentice stage—you can immediately own your own Arcane Spire.
Even some powerful seventh-level mages will come running to compete for the chance to be your teacher."
From Gareth's words, Logan realized how special Space magic was.
"Other disciplines' magic can be roughly cast using different types of Mana Crystals even without talent, but Space magic is the only exception.
So even if I gave you a zero-level Space spell blueprint, you wouldn't be able to learn it."
Despite this, Logan didn't give up.
Thanks to Logan's persistent insistence, Gareth finally handed him a parchment engraved with the zero-level Space magic spell: Spatial Perception.
Holding the parchment, Logan returned to the enchantment chamber.
Without hesitation, he unfolded the magical blueprint and began his studies.
The magic nodes of Space magic were more complex than those of the other disciplines.
The three-dimensional structure made Logan's head ache just looking at it.
But for the reward of the all-discipline magic talent, Logan braced himself and plunged straight into it.
Altogether, Logan spent three days before finally mastering the zero-level Space magic: Spatial Perception.

…
Looking at the updated stats panel, Logan felt an unprecedented sense of satisfaction.
Just as Logan was admiring his updated stats panel, Marcus appeared at the Arcane Spire wearing heavy Paladin armor.
"Did Elias send you?" Gareth asked Marcus, looking at him.
"Lord Elias said that as long as the little girl is handed over, the church won't trouble the others."
Marcus's tone was stiff—it wasn't a negotiation, but a notification.
"No one has ever taken anyone from the Arcane Spire, not even Elias would risk the consequences."
Gareth's face darkened. Elias was a fourth-level cultivator, equivalent to a fourth-level mage, far stronger than him, but the Mage Association was no joke.
If Elias dared to force things, the Mage Association would make the Church of the Radiant God understand that the dignity of mages was not to be underestimated.
"The bishop will personally arrive in Silvermoon City in a month. The grand ceremony will not be canceled, so the person must be taken. I'm just here to inform you."
With that, Marcus turned and left, leaving Gareth standing in the room with a troubled expression, deep in thought.
Why was the church so focused on this little girl? There must be things he didn't know.
More importantly, how was he supposed to explain this to Logan?
After all, he had previously promised that Logan's family would be absolutely safe inside the Arcane Spire.
Thinking this, Gareth sighed. This matter was far more complicated than he had imagined.
Logan didn't know any of this.
At this moment, he was trying to meditate to store mana and then practice first-level magic.
Once he mastered first-level magic, he could go to the Mage Association for assessment.
If he passed, he would officially become a true all-discipline mage.
