Chapter 314 - Revelation or Death Sentence?

Genevieve saw the trickle of blood running down Anna's neck and crossed her arms.

She could stop Maxwell from killing Anna by sucking all her blood, but she knew she shouldn't. He needed to control himself. He needed to control himself, since he was the equivalent of the Alpha for werewolves, for vampires. Only Maxwell could turn a human into a vampire. But he preferred humans to be just a source of nourishment. She realized that he found it difficult to stop, because the frenzy that overcame them every time they drank human blood was almost impossible to stop, so Maxwell forbade them to feed more than once a week, or the world would be littered with human corpses, because their thirst was great, and each vampire could suck the blood of more than fifty humans in a day and not be completely satiated.

However, the vampires, despite fearing and recognizing Maxwell's authority, were not as loyal as the werewolves, and were much braver, as they didn't mind dying if they were discovered breaking one of their master's rules. For Maxwell could see everything they saw, heard and felt.

There were no exiles. Maxwell had known all along about the battle, but the vampires had never planned to kill the werewolves, but they had attacked, and their decision to face the Alpha had been very quick, and Maxwell had sensed that decision, and it had immediately entered their minds and slowed them down, in the hope of saving his brother, who had fallen to being riddled with silver bullets, poisoned with potions from the underworld. It made them more fragile. And now, it was turning the first Bruma into a vampire and probably, when she woke up, the Bruma would be activated inside Anna.

Maxwell managed to let go of Anna's neck, and standing up, with her in his arms, he scratched her inside the car and looked at Adonis.

"Release him, and make him forget I'm you." Maxwell ordered and got into the car in the back with Anna.

Genevieve liked that ability and found it much more fun to be a vampire than a werewolf, but she was both.

After she had talked to Adonis, he got into the car quietly and sped off.

Maxwell asked them to go straight to the hospital, but Adonis refused.

He drove him to where Maxwell had left his own car and sped off into the city, which was still enveloped in smoke. He wanted to help the werewolves who were still alive.

While Maxwell took Anna to the supernatural hospital, Mycon ordered Adam's men to gather around and help him rescue the wounded.

He picked up Alexander and Adam, slung them over each other's shoulders and carried them to the car, dumped them in the back seat, one on top of the other, and drove them to the nearest werewolf hospital.

Mycon refused to allow anyone he knew to die that day.

He drove into the hospital parking lot and immediately recognized Maxwell's car.

Anna was there too. He called the nurses to get the two werewolves he had helped out of the car, and as soon as he returned with the stretchers, he saw three more of Adam's cars arriving with injured people. He couldn't pay any attention and followed all the assistance they gave to the wounded. It was only after he had left everyone in the care of the doctors that he went to gather in the hospital canteen with the others who had come in the cars to help someone.

The only phrase he heard that stuck in his mind was Adonis'.

 "They're all almost dead."

He couldn't say, nor did he try to find out who had warned Bonnie about what had happened, but from the coldness she showed when she arrived at the hospital, he understood that the attack had something to do with her. And he hated her. But he wondered about everything. Would Adam have revealed where he buried Anna if he hadn't been shot? He would never have known. But he did know one thing: he wouldn't leave Bonnie alone with him, not for a minute.

Maxwell felt himself in front of him, and Mycon felt the hairs on his body stand on end.

"You should take her somewhere else, if you don't want me to finish my Alpha's job." Mycon said between his teeth.

"I need to make a deal with you. I didn't have to make the deal I'm about to propose, but in consideration of your feelings for my brother, your loyalty, I won't manipulate you."

Mycon stared at him in silence and Maxwell understood that he had to go on.

"I'm going to tell Anna that my brother is dead. When I drank her blood, her memories became mine. Adam told her he'd put himself on the front line, she'll believe he's dead."

Mycon continued to stare at Maxwell expressionlessly.

"Adam can't know she's alive. Do you know what she'll be when she wakes up? He's already not going to accept that. He must also believe that she's dead. It'll be better for all of us. I can see in your eyes that today, you hate Anna. You blame her for everything that's happening and..."

"She's guilty. And I accept your agreement. If I see her in front of me, I will kill her." Mycon said sternly and walked away.

 ...

Bonnie approached Maxwell, who at first didn't recognize her because of the scar on her face, but then remembered her and the things Anna had told him when they were together. She had a look of victory on her face and sat down next to him.

"Justice is so poetic, isn't it?" She said sarcastically. "I really want Anna to die. Because then her father will come after Adam and make him pay for what he did to his daughter. Adam can't die because of a few shots either. He has to suffer at the hands of Anna's father. I'll be around to see it all."

 Maxwell stared at her indifferently.

"I have no interest in hearing about your crazy daydreams, Bonnie. It seems the werewolves reject you now..."

Bonnie opened her eyes in surprise, but then everything began to make sense in her brain.

"He's... you're werewolves! That's why you know so much about medicine, you know herbs, you're strong, virile, and... how can I ever thank you for revealing this mystery to me?"
