Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Bumped Into Shane

It was already 7pm when the four of them set out to the restaurant.

Against Ethan's and Asher's wishes, Cleo still accompanied them.

They could only bite their words in as they watched her sit beside their lovely sister.

The only reason they allowed her in was because of Camille. They were vying to take care of her, and win back her trust, so they dared not go against her wishes.

Camille and Cleo sat in the back seats, while Ethan sat in the passenger's seat leaving Asher behind the wheel of the car.

Cleo closed her eyes as she rested her head. She smiled, obviously enjoying the bliss.

Camille who was on her phone, raised her head up to look at her, and a chuckle escaped her mouth.

Cleo heard the chuckle, and she snapped her eyes open, taking a good look at Camille.

"What are you laughing at?" Cleo demanded.

Camille tilted her head to stare at her, and she gave a response, "what do you think?"

Cleo glared at her, and Camille found it funny.

"Why do you always have to result in glares when things don't go your way?" She asked, folding her arms as she clearly found Cleo's actions funny.

"I am not entitled to give you a reply," Cleo replied without giving her a look.

Camille smiled, but didn't bother to engage with her anymore. She wasn't concerned.

A few minutes later, the car pulled up at one of the biggest restaurants in the entire city.

Cleo's eyes had sparkles in them as she admired the restaurant from the car. Camille, on the other hand, had a nonchalant expression.

This wasn't the first time she would be dining here, so it wasn't new to her. But with Cleo, it was different.

She never had the opportunity to step her foot into such a classy restaurant.

Camille looked at Cleo who had an excited look, and her thoughts drifted to an incident which occurred in her past life.

She could vividly recall that they once had such a hangout in her past life, but Cleo was obviously the main character there.

Her brothers had given Cleo a look of pity when they noticed the yearning in her eyes. She had also pulled Cleo in for a hug, calmly whispering to the latter on how they could always come here.

Thinking about it, she must have been foolish to do so. That was one of the signs which she was meant to notice, but she was too blind to see it.

She looked at her brothers who didn't pay attention to Cleo's expression, and her brows furrowed in doubt.

'Have they truly changed?' She asked herself, the doubt in her heart spreading.

Her train of thoughts was cut when the car door was suddenly opened. It was only then she realized that Ethan had opened the door for her....just like a gentleman would do.

She sighed, before stepping out of the car.

She turned to look at Cleo who was staring at her with hatred which she failed to conceal properly.

Camille smirked, feeling that the roles had been reversed which wasn't entirely wrong.

"What about me?" Cleo blurted out, desperation tinged in her voice. She also wanted to be treated like a lady.

"When you are ready, you'll step out of the car yourself, then you might probably want to find your way around," Asher replied bluntly, scoffing at the end of his statement.

Cleo's face burned with embarrassment as her cheeks turned red. She took a deep breath as she tried to calm herself.

He was about to lock the car door when Cleo stumbled out of the car while breathing heavily.

"I thought you wanted princess treatment," Asher scoffed, before walking away..

Cleo followed after him, not before glaring at him while silently cursing at the siblings.

They finally settled in a private room, and they had a waiter to themselves.

"Here, you can choose what we will have tonight," Ethan carefully handed the menu over to Camille who reluctantly accepted it.

Cleo's heart burnt in rage over the obvious display of favouritism. She bit the inner of her mouth which kept her from having an outburst.

A few minutes later, Camille was done picking out her dishes, and she handed the menu to Cleo.

"Take it, it is better for you to order, you might not be able to handle my taste," Camille smiled, stuffing the menu into Cleo's hands.

The two brothers watched her actions, but they didn't stop her. They noticed that she wanted to include Cleo in all actions, and if this was her decision, they had no other choice than to accept it.

A while later, Cleo was done picking out her dishes, and there was an obvious look of excitement in her eyes.

After all, Camille's words were true. She would be unable to handle her tastes.

"You know, you should be apologising to Camille after the stunt you pulled earlier today, you almost cost her exams," Asher sneered, completely annoyed by her presence.

Recalling what Asher had said earlier before they left the house, Ethan became furious as he turned to look at Cleo.

He didn't glare at her, but the weight of his stare was enough to cause Cleo to break out in sweat.

"I didn't mean to do any of these, it is an honest mistake," Cleo forced out, her hands were balled into fists under the table, and there was a fine sheen of sweat on her forehead.

"Ethan, easy, I have forgiven her, so I think you should do the same as well," Camille could see that Ethan was about to lose his temper, so she stepped in to prevent him from losing his cool.

Ethan snapped his head to take a look at Camille, asking her, "what did you just say?"

"I forgave her, and I believe you should do the same as well," Camille repeated the same words she said to Asher.

Ethan stared hardly at her, before nodding, giving into her request. But this didn't mean he wouldn't deal with Cleo secretly.

She is one of the reasons Camille wasn't close to them anymore, and he had been looking for a way to deal with her. Who knew she would offer herself on a platter?

All of a sudden, Camille felt pressed, having the strong urge to use the bathroom.

"I'll be right back," she informed them before dashing out of the room without waiting for them to give her a reply.

As she made her way to the bathroom, she bumped into someone which caused her to almost crash into the floor.

But the person was quick to catch her before she fell.

Camille stared into the familiar eyes, and she exclaimed, "it's you!"
