Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Shane And Ethan Meets

Steadying her to her feet, the man nodded at her. The people who were behind him had their jaws dropped in awe of what just played out. This was the first time they would see their boss having an intimate encounter with a lady.

"Shane, right?" Camille asked, a goofy grin on her lips as she stared at the man who was dressed in a suit.

She tilted her head as she checked him out.

"You look even more handsome than the last time I saw you, tell me, what's your secret," Camille demanded, circling around him.

This action of hers startled the men behind Shane. But even more so, they were baffled by Shane's lack of reaction.

No, that wasn't the right way to put it. He had a reaction, but it was different from previous encounters.

They could vividly recall that Shane didn't like being in close range with females. Any female who got close to him would be thrown out.

But the reverse was the case in Camille's situation. It appeared that Shane even enjoyed it as his lifted up slightly.

This scene was caught by the men behind, and they all exchanged nervous glances for fear of what he would do to Camille. They were obviously worrying for no reason.

"Why are you here?" Shane finally opened his mouth to speak.

The old men behind Shane had no idea how much shock they had experienced in the span of a few minutes. Looking at Shane's attitude, it showed that he was familiar with Camille.

"I'm here with my brothers," Camille replied.

"What about my car?" She asked, swiftly changing the topic.

Shane stared straight at her, his eyes boring straight into hers. If it were to be Camille from her past life, she would have flinched.

But this time around, she was different, and she was able to hold his gaze without being intimidated.

What she didn't know was that her single action had earned the high praise of the men behind Shane. After all, she was the first woman to never back out from staring at Shane.

Shane, on the other hand, was surprised by her. He chuckled internally, finding her to be interesting.

"It's only been a day, the damage on the car was terrible, it could take at least five days before you get your car back," Shane slowly explained to her.

By this time, the men were always getting used to his soft tone, and didn't find it surprising anymore.

Camille slowly nodded, finding his words to be feasible.

"Alright, I won't keep you waiting, it seems you are busy," Camille paused, looking at the men who were standing behind him.

"Goodbye," she waved, and hurriedly walked off before Shane could say anything, not that he needed to.

Giving her retreating figure one last glance, he walked away with the men hurrying after him.

A few minutes later, Camille walked back into the private room, and she noticed that the tables were filled with the dishes already.

"Why did you take so long?" Ethan inquired, the worry in his eyes couldn't be masked.

Camille was taken aback by his question. She hadn't spent much time outside, but Ethan's question threw her off guard.

Nevertheless, she chose to reply honestly, "I bumped into the man who offered to fix the car, we had a little conversation."

She took her seat while responding to his question.

Ethan slowly nodded.

"How about you introduce us to him? We would love to see him," Asher suggested with a friendly smile.

Camille looked straight into his eyes, curious as to why he suggested that. Even though he had a smile on his face, she knew who her brother was, and she could definitely say that he was up to something.

"I don't think that will be possible, I am not close to him, and he seemed like a busy man," Camille replied with a serious voice.

The conversation was taken in by Cleo who seemed to be an afterthought in all of it.

She balled her palms into his fists under the table, taking deep breaths. She was this close to flipping out.

She could not stand the two brothers fussing over Camille like she wasn't present.

"I think it is time for us to eat," when she couldn't take it anymore, Cleo spoke up which interrupted the conversation between the three siblings.

The two brothers turned to glare at Cleo.

"If you want to eat, then eat, nobody is stopping you," Asher replied with a clipped tone.

"Let's eat," Camille stated.

The celebratory dinner was peaceful. Although, there was an underlying tension underneath.

Camille decided that she would enjoy the dinner. She had no idea if her brothers would change again, but she knew she shouldn't put too much hope on them.

Her death in her past life taught her a lot.

The dinner ended peacefully and silently. After sharing drinks, they decided to leave the restaurant.

"Did you have fun today?" Ethan asked as they walked.

Camille turned to look at her brother who hid his ruthlessness behind the glasses he always wore.

"I did, you kept your word, I think that is more than enough for me," Camille replied with a small smile.

Ethan nodded, but his heart twisted in pain and guilt. Although Camille's words were not made to make him feel guilty, there was no doubt that her words made him remember what had happened in his past life.

"Cam, I'm sorry," he impulsively apologized.

Camille instinctively stopped in her tracks as she turned to look at him.

"Why are you apologizing?" She asked, genuinely wondering what had gotten into his head.

"For everything, I promise to make things right, don't give up on Asher and I," Ethan begged.

For the first time, Camille could hear a hint of vulnerability and pleading in Ethan's voice.

Camille looked into his eyes which were hidden behind the glasses, and she frowned slightly.

She hated herself for wanting to give them a second chance even when she said she wouldn't hope for them to be nice to her anymore.

She took a deep breath, nodding, before walking away. She didn't wish for Ethan to see that his words affected her in ways she didn't wish for it to affect her.

They finally reached the parking lot, but Camille didn't expect that she would bump into Shane again. She didn't expect that she would see him again.

"Shane, I never expected to see you again," Camille smiled seeing Shane who was surrounded by the same men from earlier.

Ethan who was behind Camille stared at Shane, and both men locked eyes instantly.

There was a spark of tension between both men, and Camille was oblivious to it.

"Shane Lockwood," Ethan forced out through gritted teeth. He didn't understand how his sister knew the only man he detested.

"Ethan Leroy," Shane calmly replied.

The tension rose, and Camille's eyes darted between both men as she asked, "do you both know each other?"
