Mo was completely bewildered.
He hadn't even figured out what was going on with the mod and the lucky blocks yet, and suddenly, here came Iron Man—what was going on here?
The person in front of him was definitely Iron Man.
Right now, the guy was wearing a worn-out jacket, with a blood-soaked chest where a crude electromagnet was embedded, connected by two wires to a car battery. Although his face was extremely haggard, Mo recognized him immediately—this was definitely the real deal.
But... in Mo's understanding, Iron Man was a character from a movie! How had he turned into a real person? Where the hell had he transmigrated to?
"Iron Man? What's that?"
Stark seemed taken aback when he saw Mo's reaction.
Before Stark could say anything, another, weaker-looking middle-aged man suddenly spoke up: "Sir, no offense, but we are just prisoners captured by the terrorists."
"Uh… you are..."
Although his brain was in turmoil, Mo quickly recognized the other man's identity. "That surgeon, Ethan?"
"You know me?" Ethan looked confused. He couldn't remember when he had met Mo, but this was good news—it might ease Mo's hostility toward him.
Thinking about this, Ethan slowly raised his hands, signaling that he meant no harm. "As you can see, my companions and I are also victims, captured by the terrorists. We'll probably be killed by them soon..."
Ethan's words were delivered well. He immediately painted himself as a victim, just like Mo, creating a shared enemy between them.
"Wait, let me try to sort this out..."
Before Ethan could finish, Mo suddenly rubbed his forehead and turned to Stark. "So… you really are Tony Stark, right?"
"Uh… yes," Stark hesitated but nodded.
"Are you sure?"
Mo couldn't help but ask again for confirmation.
"Isn't there another Tony Stark in the world?" Stark seemed just as confused and then asked in return.
At this point, Mo's mind was racing.
He couldn't believe it, but it seemed he had transmigrated into the Marvel universe. And from the looks of it, it was still very early in the timeline—Iron Man hadn't even been born yet.
At the same time, he also understood the true identity of the leather-bound book from the dungeon reward chest.
If Mo wasn't mistaken, this item that allowed him to travel to other worlds had probably come from the "Mystery Island" mod.
Mo had actually played the Mystery Island mod a few times before.
The main theme of this mod was otherworldly adventures, where players could use a book to travel to various alternate worlds. If you were unlucky, you'd fall into the void; if you were lucky, you might encounter special landscapes like Diamond Continent.
But the problem was, even if Mo had transmigrated to another world, it should have been an MC world. Why was he dropped straight into the Marvel world?
This was beyond the scope of any "mod" modifications!
Now, Mo didn't even know how to get back.
"Um..."
Just when Mo was starting to get a headache, Ethan suddenly spoke up again: "Though it's impolite, I must remind you—Tony Stark is very important to them. I suspect these lunatics won't just give up so easily."
As if to confirm Ethan's words, the sound of many footsteps soon echoed from outside.
Fortunately, Mo's ability to adapt was still very strong. After he transmigrated to the MC world, he quickly adapted, so now, even though his heart was still a little shocked, his actions were fast. He immediately controlled Steve to block the entrance with a pile of cobblestones, trapping the group of terrorists outside.
"Damn it! How did these stones appear!?"
From behind a meter-thick wall of stone, an angry voice came through.
Unlike the terrorists' rage outside, the two inside the cave were stunned by this scene. Especially Stark, who had always believed in science, still couldn't help but stare wide-eyed even though he had seen something similar before. "How... how did he do that?"
"I don't know either."
Ethan was equally bewildered. He couldn't fathom the principle behind it. "Nano printing? Holographic images? Or some kind of superpower? Or maybe it's like you said... sorcery?"
Before they could figure anything out, a series of desperate screams came from outside.
Yes, when Mo blocked the door with the cobblestones, he hadn't left Steve behind. Instead, he took the initiative. After all, hiding wasn't Mo's style.
In fact, to prevent the terrorists from escaping, Mo even had Steve block the other exit of the cave, trapping the terrorists in the central corridor, then eliminated them one by one.
It wasn't long before the screams from outside gradually ceased.
"Mm, done."
After dealing with the terrorists, Mo turned around. "Now we can sit down and talk."
"Uh... huh?"
Maybe the screams from outside were too terrifying, but Stark seemed dazed until Ethan nudged him, snapping him back to reality. Stark quickly nodded. "Uh, yes... of course, we should talk."
"Then let's start with you."
Mo thought for a moment, then said to Stark, "Tony Stark, huh? Let me think... You must be the infamous playboy from the news, right? The world's biggest arms dealer. So, how did you end up here?"
"I was testing the Jericho missile in Afghanistan, but then I was attacked."
Mentioning this, Stark's mood visibly sank. He pointed to the electromagnet on his chest. "As you can see, when I woke up, I found this thing in my chest... Thanks to it, the bomb fragments can't reach my heart, but these people keep threatening me to make the Jericho missile. I refused, so they've been torturing me in all kinds of ways."
"This thing looks pretty technical. Did he make it?"
Mo glanced at the electromagnet on Stark's chest, then pointed at Ethan. "So, he saved your life?"
"Yes, I survived an explosion and then got a bomb strapped to me."
Stark's current mood was clearly very low. He looked at the electromagnet on his chest, then glanced around. "Look at this horrible environment—I'm at risk of dying from infection, a short circuit, or massive blood loss at any moment. Even if I survive, these terrorists will definitely kill me."
"What about you?"
Mo asked. "What do you think?"
"I have to escape." Stark's eyes flickered with determination. "I can't make the Jericho missile for them. They'll kill me after that!"
"The military is definitely looking for you, but this place is too hidden."
After hearing Stark's words, Ethan couldn't help but speak up. "The map shows this place as a blank area. Even satellites can only see the mountains. We'll have to figure out a way to leave on our own."
"I know. I'm already working on a plan."
Stark clasped his hands over his head, taking a deep breath to calm himself.
For someone who had lived a life of luxury and privilege since birth, this was the worst situation Stark had ever been in. The threat of death filled him with crisis and confusion, and he didn't even know how much longer he could survive.
"Maybe... we can try relying on mysterious Eastern sorcery?" Mo's voice suddenly broke the silence. Stark froze and instinctively looked up at Mo, only to find that Mo was looking right at him.
"Is that really sorcery?"
Stark stared at Mo for a long time, then couldn't help but ask, "Would you help us leave here? Also, how did you end up here?"
"This is a long story..."
Mo pondered, thinking about how to fabricate a lie.
To be honest, Mo didn't want to stay in the Marvel universe for too long. After all, the Marvel universe was too chaotic, and villains were always popping up trying to destroy the world. Even with Steve as his trump card, he'd rather return to the MC world and mine peacefully.
The problem was, Mo had no idea how to get back.
He had played the Mystery Island mod, but that didn't mean he understood everything. If he did, he wouldn't have ended up here, right?
Since he couldn't go back in the short term, Mo decided it was a good idea to build solid relationships.
Take Tony Stark, for example: the world's richest man, a genius scientist, Iron Man, and one of the founding members of the Avengers. As they say, more friends mean more opportunities, and more husbands mean more homes. Mo was going to make Stark his friend for sure.
Plus, Mo had always liked the Iron Man character.
If he had the chance, he even wanted to change that tragic event in the original story.
"Have you ever heard of a Stand User?"
After deciding to build a relationship with Stark, Mo immediately began to prepare his response.
"What's that?"
Neither of them knew, as this world didn't have the JoJo manga. They shook their heads, and Stark, curious, asked, "Is it a term for wizards in your Eastern culture?"
"Actually, I'm just a passing Stand User."
At this point, Mo sighed deliberately. "You probably won't believe it, but I was just at home when, for some inexplicable reason, I suddenly ended up here. As for what happened after that, you've seen it... it was those terrorists who made the first move."
"Wait, you're saying you just appeared here?"
Upon hearing Mo's explanation, Stark looked visibly surprised. "You... sure about that?"
