Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2

I was stunned by her question. I didn't really expect her question to me, it shock me and sends shivers through my spine but at the same time it makes me excited.

"H-huh? W-what are y-you s-saying?" I can't utter a word properly.

She looks at me, analyzing something from me, she's like she doesn't believe me. I immediately looked away because she knows me too well so she'll know if I'm lying or not.

"Really?" Even if I'm not looking at her, I know she's raising a brow. You'll get a clue that she's not convinced by me through her voice tone.

"Y-yeah," I tried to answer her strongly.

"Looked at me, then, and tell me that you're not lying, I know you well, Feion." My god! Why the hell she knows me well?!

I let out a heavy breath and slowly looked at her. "I'm not lying!" I said.

Her eyes were still narrowed as she stared at me intently, the way she ate her cake was also slow. It was as if she was studying my face, whether I was telling the truth or not.

"Stop it, Jam, I lost." I said with a frown. She laughed and shrugged. I knew she was still not convinced by my answer, it was also obvious from her appearance because her red lips were moving slightly.

"Whatever. Your birthday is coming, having some plans?" She asked. I thought about it. "I forgot my birthday, sorry not sorry." I didn't feel like answering. "Seriously?" Her eyes widened.

Not believing that I forgot my own birthday.

My left eyebrow rose. "Do I look like I'm joking?" I asked her.

"Oh my god, how can you forget your own birthdate? Pathetic." She rolled her eyes.

I leaned back in my chair. "I don't know! It's next week, right?" I asked.

"Today is September 5, Monday, So your birthday will be on September 12, Monday too!" She said excitedly. She was even more excited than I was!

"Exactly! I'm not excited because I have nothing to do but study!" I said. "I don't want to disappoint Auntie Astrid. This is my only contribution, err" I said sadly.

I hate disappointment.

"Oh god! You're turning 18 this year, yet you still don't have your boyfriend. Come on, Fei! Explore love!" She was excited and looked to be thrilled by her interest in me. I smirked.

"Being single is great, you can do all shits, without any commitments." I said.

"Of course. But, don't you want to experience like a butterfly onyour tummy?" She seemed curious.

"You looked great with our uniform." I praised, bringing up the topic. But it's true, our white skirt and blouse suit her, their skirts are just too short!

"Psh, don't try to change the topic," She said seriously so I kept quiet. I pouted.

I frowned. "Well, Jam....." She rolled her eyes. "You don't have a plan to love? or having a boyfriend? Go ahead, you might be getting old with that girl....." She said and grinned.

I smiled broadly before speaking. While she was drinking her water. "If I am ready to be in a relationship, I am more likely to seek out love, than being shy away from it. And besides, love is not about planning when to do it, Jam....." I said calmly.

"... waiting for the right time is the best choice in love, Jam." I continued.

"I know, that's why I don't have a boyfriend." You could hear the irritation in her voice. "But why did Kaylie get back at Aiden, right?" She asked, referring to our batchmate.

"Imagine, Aiden brought his friends together? Poor Kaylie, she was replaced with Jessa. Aiden is such an idiot." You can tell he's annoyed.

We're not close to Kaylie but she's open to Jam's and me. Jam and Kaylie are friends and we're not, Jam is my only best friend. I spread my palm.

"Sometimes, we fall in love with someone because of how they make us feel about ourselves, so maybe Kaylie laughed and turned back to Aiden because Aiden was the only one who made Kaylie feel true to herself. Love is really all that matters, right, Jam?" I explained at her.

I was surprised to see her happy so I frowned and leaned back again. "What?" I asked.

"None, those words coming from you?" She shook her head then stood up and got some food.

My eyebrows rose. "What?" "Duh, are you NBSB?" She asked, sarcastically.

I was stunned. "So? Does it matter?" I asked annoyed. She smirked.

"Love is really all that matters, right?" She was imitating what I had said earlier. I smiled at her. "Bitch." I said.

"But really, do you believe in magic?" She asked, she was so serious that I frowned. What kind of question was that? Do I look like I believe it?

"W-what kind of question is that?" I can't utter a word properly, remembering what just happened earlier.

I feel like, I'm a newborn baby at that time. I almost lost my breath earlier. I lost the ability to speak, move and think properly.

What happened earlier... .....was like magic. Magic? "Hey, I'm asking you."

My eyes widened. Omg! What if, what happened earlier was really called magic!? What if, what happened earlier was really magic!? What if, I have powers?! What if, I can bring the dead back to life!?

"Stupid!" I glared at her when she suddenly punched me. I even grabbed the back of my head because it really hurt! "Stupid , I've been asking you questions for a while now and you're not answering! You're floating again!" She said angrily and slumped back into her chair.

"What is that?" I asked with a sneer. She glared at me. "See? You didn't even heard what I've just said!"

She was shocked. "So, what the hell is that?"

"Do you believe in magic? I mean, me, I believe in it." She said. I sighed and stood up then grabbed a Red Velvet cake, then sat back down in the seat I was sitting in earlier. While she was seriously watching me until I sat down, because she was waiting for my answer.

"What if, yes. What now?" I asked first. She was stunned before smiling broadly. "That's right! It doesn't matter but why do I get curious?" It seemed like she really wanted to know something.

"Do you...." My forehead slowly furrowed. Her questions made me really suspicious. Could it be that, like what happened to me earlier, it has also happened to her? Could it be that, like me, she is also troubled because there are things like that that happen in real life? Come on, Fei! Maybe, like you, something like that has also happened to Jam!

"Why do I feel like, there's something in me that is eager to come out?" She asked me in a questioning manner.

"What do you mean?" My forehead furrowed.

"I'm gonna give a situation, and define what is the real meaning of it? Gets?" She asked happily.

I just finished my cake-filled bowl and nodded at his question, I didn't remove the bowl from my mouth and held the end of it with my right hand. She pulled her chair and came closer to me.

I just raised my foot off the chair and placed my hand on my chin. "There is a lot of marble was put on the billiard ball, all six holes are closed of course! And then, it was lifeless right?" She asked seriously. I nodded my head. "Right."

"With a hundred marbles, one of them flew off! It moves, it talks, and it can walk without a foot." She said.

My forehead furrowed. "Huh? That's impossible."

"Exactly!" She snapped loudly in front of my face.

"..... it's impossible to happen and it happened. Turns out that the impossible turns into possible. Did you get my point here, Fei!" She was happy but also serious. It was hard to keep joking with her! Bad trip! But I slowly got what she meant.

"If ever, is there something unexpected happened to you?" I asked hopefully. "You nailed it!" She said.

"Care to share it? When? Where did it happen? or what happened?" I asked one after another.

"It's hard to believe but it's true." You really can't believe the tone of her speech. "W-what are you s-saying?!" I exclaimed.

She still hadn't gotten straight to the point! What I don't like most of all is the interruptions! It gives me a bad trip when it happens. "Everytime that I sing, something wrong is happening....." I was stunned.

"What do you mean by something wrong?" I asked hesitantly. "Maybe your voice is just really ugly." I formally added.

She glared at me. "Stop joking around and just listen to me." My silly smile disappeared when I saw how serious she was!

"Whatever. So, what's something wrong you're saying?" I suddenly became interested in listening to her. I knew Jam wasn't lying either because she only got serious once in a while.

"Every time that I'll sing, it seems like there's a gravity going on, which is also why things around me are floating...." She said seriously. I was taken aback.

"H-huh?" She nodded her head. "Yup, but it's depends on what I am thinking. Especially, when I am mad." She added.

I was even more surprised and dumbfounded by him. Fuck! I'm telling you! Everything I thought was right Fei! We both fell silent and couldn't move. I was still trying to function in my brain all that he said. It was like it couldn't handle the new words that were so hard to believe, that when I saw them, I would believe them too. It's just like what happened to me earlier.

I frowned again when I remembered what happened earlier. I looked at my hand without thinking and examined it. There's nothing wrong with your hand Fei, it's just normal like other people's hands. And besides, my hand is also beautiful, even the paint on my nails. it has a silver paint.

You're still beautiful, Fei. That's okay. "Are you crazy?" I just asked.

To this day, I still can't believe what happened to me earlier. How everything around me stopped and how I was the only one who could move, then when I wanted to move, everyone moved unexpectedly. Then Jam would say something like this? My god! It's like my brain still can't register it until... ...I can't prove it's true.

"What the fuck, Fei!? I'm serious!" She asked. I just nodded. Even though I still wasn't convinced. "Because I am!" I shouted.

She was stunned for a moment then stood up and took my hand. I immediately let go of the Cake I was eating, even closing it.

"Let me show you!" Then he pulled me to the backyard of Auntie Astrid's house. I didn't cry anymore and just let her pull me. We got there. Where there was also a large pool and a hut on the right side of it, while on the left was a sauna. Only Auntie used the sauna. And around the pool and there were two chairs at each corner. So that you could sit somewhere, of course, wouldn't the chair be pre-made? No, right.

"Stay here and watch me." She left me in front of the middle of Auntie's house before he took three steps. She looked at me and smiled so I smiled too.

She was just a straight body and I think she was just looking straight at the water and putting both hands on her ass. I was just looking at her and I looked around when I heard a song. It was beautiful!

She was just slow but it was perfect to listen to! It was strange and attractive! I looked around because maybe I was just hearing wrong but it was too late for me to realize where that voice was coming from.

My eyes widened as I slowly looked back at Jam who was singing. But what happened next surprised me even more. Suddenly all the stuff floated! Fuck! Why floated!?

The chairs! the sauna! The hut! L-everything! L-everything l-everything is l-floating! Fuck! What's going on! As Jam's voice rose higher and higher, the things that floated became higher. I didn't notice my feet stepping backwards with Jam.

But I didn't expect her to fall to the ground, along with the falling of the things that had just been floating, now they were back to their previous state as if nothing had happened.

"J-Jam...." I quickly ran towards Jam to check on him. It was only then that I noticed that he looked weak and as if all his strength had been drained, she was also sweating profusely and unconscious. What magic do you have, Jamaica?
