After sending her delighted mother back to her room, Ji Yuying returned to her bedroom—leaving Shunya outside.
Reason:
"Yinyin, I'm sorry!!" came a loud voice from outside her room.
Inside the bedroom they shared, the room was small with one queen-sized bed, a simple table, a wardrobe, and an attached bathroom—one that Shunya had completely forgotten to use after Ji Yuying had "revived."
On the old, shabby bed, Ji Yuying sat cross-legged, her eyes closed in meditation.
She exhaled in annoyance at Shunya's constant voice.
Opening her dark, reddish-hued, enchanting eyes, she said:
"If mother wake's up again, you'll be kneeling on that washboard for a month."
As expected—silence followed.
Ji Yuying smirked, now finally undisturbed, and closed her eyes once again to begin meditating. She needed to understand what changes had taken place in her body—because she could already tell they were far from normal.
As she scanned her internal body, she noticed she had formed a compact dantian, and her Qi Sea, instead of being liquid-like, had a mercury-like consistency. Even more surprising—her Qi Ocean was twice the size of the Pacific.
Her delicate brows shot up in astonishment.
"Is this also because of Shunya? Did our first night seven years ago actually change my physical constitution?"
At that time, her immortal soul had been badly damaged and dormant, so she couldn't sense any changes in her body.
But now that her soul had healed—like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon—she had been reborn. And it was Shunya who had pulled her out of that limbo.
' Unbelievable.'
Her meridians were far wider than they should be at this stage. Her Spiritual Qi had no discernible color—it was completely "invisible" and absolutely pure, with zero impurities.
"This goes beyond being an anomaly. It's like… Shunya is anti-heaven. He shatters every principle like it's nothing." Ji Yuying thought in amazement.
She knew there was no point in asking Shunya about any of this. The man couldn't even tell the difference between common grass and a spiritual herb. He clearly didn't know about his abilities.
In fact, Shunya had never told her anything about his origins. All he ever said was that he was an orphan, ousted by his family. He even changed his name and refused to take on any family name—not even hers.
Still, Shunya never asked for anything from anyone. He had given up everything he had for her sake. So Ji Yuying chose to respect his wish for secrecy.
That's how marriage works. If something doesn't harm the relationship, then whether it's known or not doesn't really matter.
But now that she knew her "mortal" husband wasn't exactly mortal, she decided to investigate his abilities on her own.
At the same time, she resolved to start cultivating once again—with a profound and deeply mysterious method she had inherited in her previous life, but had never been able to practice.
The Hegemonic Trinity Void Method.
She had found this technique in an obscure hidden realm—a realm that was curiously void-like in nature. She'd stumbled upon it by accident and received the inheritance stored there.
It was incredibly difficult to practice. It required massive resources, near-limitless spiritual energy, and a unique body structure.
But now, with a golden dantian and a vast, pure Qi Sea, she had the foundation to attempt the impossible.
Somewhere deep in her heart, she also had the lingering sense that Shunya still held even greater surprises than she could imagine.
With that mindset, Ji Yuying began cultivating through the night.

The Next Morning
When Ji Yuying emerged from her room, she was wearing a simple, adjusted t-shirt and pink shorts.
After living as a mortal for 25 years, losing her powers, marrying, and eventually falling in love with that idiot of a husband—she had decided to take it easy and enjoy her life in the mundane world for now.
While she wouldn't be able to use mystic arts and magical techniques until she reached Foundation Establishment, her current cultivation level had already reconstructed her into a spiritual body—something typically only achieved during the Golden Core stage.
Their modest three-bedroom apartment had a connected dining room and kitchen. Beside the dining table, she saw Shunya still kneeling on a washboard, hands raised, snoring softly in his sleep.
Ji Yuying sweatdropped, watching the ridiculous sight of her husband sleeping in such a silly position.
Behind him, Ji Suyin was preparing soup in the kitchen.
Noticing Ji Yuying enter, Ji Suyin gently woke Shunya.
"Huh?" Shunya blinked and let out a loud yawn.
He turned to see Ji Yuying standing in the doorway and instantly lit up. His whole body perked up with joy.
Despite having kneeled all night, he looked completely energetic.
Mother Ji chuckled softly.
"It's good to be young."
She had always noticed that Shunya never seemed to get tired—ever. And though his childlike innocence made him easy to understand, both elders had long since stopped questioning the strange aspects of his constitution.
But Ji Yuying's sharp eyes caught something alarming—the small scars on his knees from the washboard were disappearing in an instant.
He felt no discomfort kneeling all night.
And yet, she still couldn't sense even a trace of energy from him.
Not even while he was healing.
Still, she kept her expression calm and unreadable.
Shunya quickly came up to her and bowed his head apologetically.
"Yinyin, I'm really sorry. I won't enter the bathroom again without your permission!"
He stepped forward to hug her, but Ji Yuying stopped him with a flat hand.
"Okay. But don't hug me—you stink. Go wash up."
"After that, can I hug you?" he asked hopefully.
"No."
"Awwww…" Shunya drooped like a disappointed puppy—but given his size, he looked more like a bear.
"Two more days."
Before she could even react, Shunya disappeared from the room at top speed—clearly afraid to push his luck with his beautiful, scary wife.
Mother Ji chuckled as she watched the two juniors of the family interact.
It felt like a lifetime since their home had been this lively.
Ji Yuying calmly took a seat at the dining table as Ji Suyin served her a bowl of soup.
"Yinyin, even if you're feeling better, it's still good to get another opinion. Why don't you go for a checkup at Ling Hospital?" Ji Suyin said gently.
Ling Hospital was the top medical facility in City Lin, known for its modern, Western medical practices.
"No need, Mother. I know my body well. I'm feeling better than ever. That hospital's expensive—no point wasting money when the results are obvious," Ji Yuying replied casually.
"Silly child, nothing is more expensive than my granddaughter's health. Just take Shunya with you," Ji Suyin said, her voice soft with concern.
Realizing her mother was genuinely pleading, Ji Yuying sighed internally.
For her mother peace of mind, she agreed to the checkup.
