Synopsis
"Am I dead? Or still fading...? Hah... how laughable. Even a god can fall." I was the strongest among the Five Divine Kings — unmatched, feared, and revered. But fear turned into betrayal. My own kin, the gods I once called brothers, struck me down. If fate grants me a second chance... I won’t chase divinity. I won’t embrace darkness. I will forge my own path.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Sword That Shouldn’t Return

The clash of blades echoed across the divine realm. Blood stained the clouds, and silence followed the betrayal.

Sword God:

"You attacked me from behind... Do you even have any shame?"

God of Elements:

"You were the Sword God — the one we feared most.

You could've killed us all, and we knew it.

So we struck first. We betrayed you, yes… but even then, you still dealt fatal wounds to several of us.

And what's worse… the wounds you inflicted don't heal.

That's what we feared most:

That even after your fall, you might return… and finish what you started."

Sword God:

"I will return.

And when I do... I won't grant you death.

I'll make you understand it."

God of Elements:

"Don't let his soul enter the Reincarnation Circle!"

Sword God:

"Binding of Judgment."

God of Death:

"Razik... Sword God... I curse you to fall into the sadness of eternity!"

Sword God:

"Curses don't work on me."

A sharp gust tore through the battlefield as his soul vanished.

God of Life:

"He escaped…"

From the silence, a voice whispered through the threads of fate:

"Fate will be rewritten."

"Aha ha… My son, you're so adorable!"

"Husband, what should we name him?"

"...Hmm. Vaelrik."

A light returned to the world.

---

5 Years Later

"I'm five years old now."

Even though I've been training, I still have to act like a cute little kid. It's frustrating.

"Where's my sweet little baby? It's time to play!"

Vaelrik sighed internally.

Not again… Ah, wait.

He smiled quickly. "I-I just can't hide, huh?"

"There you are!" his father Dumen grinned, crouching low. "Wanna play hide and seek? Today, your dad is free — I'll play as much as you want!"

"Yay, Dad!" Vaelrik cheered — but his thoughts didn't match his tone.

Ah, fuck. Here we go again. How did I forget about this old man of mine…

---

That Night

The moon hung high.

Vaelrik crept out of bed and stepped into the backyard under the stars.

Now's the perfect time. No one will disturb me.

*Crank... crack... crank...*

"Why are you up at night?" Stella asked suddenly from behind.

"I-I want to sleep with Mama!" he blurted.

Fuuuck…

---

3 Months Later

I've finally reached Zenith Rank… though I used a different method from humans.

Now, I can use my first sword technique.

But I can't use it yet — not in public. People would get suspicious.

Office Scene

"Dad… I ouena twill yeu something…"

Dumen narrowed his eyes.

He's stuttering? That's never happened in five years…

"I want to learn the sword," Vaelrik said. "I want to forge my own path."

"What about magic?! Look!"

Dumen summoned fire, water, lightning, and a walking earth golem.

"You can use these as toys!"

"Nope. Sword."

"…Nope."

Stella stepped in.

"…What did you just say, Husband?"

Dumen froze. "I-I mean yes! Yes! You can learn the sword! Go! Go!"

"Thank you, Father."

Stella's smile sharpened. "Honey… we need to talk."

"Son… help m—!"

*BAM!!*

"Ugh—AHHH—OWWWWW—!"

5 Years Later

I'm ten now.

I've reached Half-Immortal Rank.

I can use my first three sword forms openly now — at least in front of my family.

And in three weeks... the Academy's Noble Selection Exam begins.

He looked up at the moon, cold wind brushing past him.

It's time they learn what I truly am.
