Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Name Cleared

Asher and Kelvin exchanged glances once they heard her words.

"Camera?" Asher asked with a surprised tone.

"Hmm, isn't that one of the basic survival skills you taught me?" Camille asked, tilting her head to take a good look at him.

Asher scratched his head awkwardly, and he nodded. He didn't expect that she would put it to use.

"Why did you plant cameras in your room?" Kelvin was more interested in knowing about her reason as he took a good look at her.

"I didn't trust Cleo, I knew she would try to sabotage me, and I can only count on myself if I want to survive, clearly, I wasn't wrong," Camille calmly replied, pausing to take a good look at their expressions. She scoffed seeing the astonished looks they had on their faces.

"I got the cameras yesterday after school, and I made sure to fix it before I slept, it clearly came in handy," Camille continued.

All of a sudden, Asher began clapping. Camille raised her brows, unsure as to why he was clapping.

"I am proud of you," Asher said with a smile, dramatically wiping a tear away from his eyes.

Camille didn't give him a reply, but the look in her eyes showed that she didn't believe his words.

"Proud of you," Asher said with a grin, wiping an imaginary tear.

"You made use of my teachings," he continued, but Camille wasn't moved by his words. She clearly had other things to attend to.

"The reason I called you here is so you could lend me your laptop, I have to tap into the cameras in my room, and you are the only one who could help," Camille paused, staring straight at Kelvin.

"I have to prove my innocence and complete those exams." She affirmed, her hands clenched by her sides.

"Is that all you need? You should have told me about it, I'd have done it for you immediately," Asher boasted.

"It is up to Supervisor Kelvin to give his orders," Camille said with a small smile.

Kelvin stared at her for a while, before nodding.

Asher gave Kelvin a small glare, putting his appearance to memory. He was going to deal with him later since he delayed his sister from writing the exams.

But now, Camille asked for his help. He had to fulfill his part.

Asher brought out a small device, and right before Kelvin's eyes, it turned into a laptop.

Kelvin was taken aback as his eyes darted between both siblings.

"It was invented by my younger sister when she was twelve, genius, isn't she? There is no way she would cheat in her exams," Asher scoffed, laying heavy emphasis on the word, 'cheat.'

Kelvin swallowed on hearing the anger in Asher's voice, but he couldn't be blamed. He was only doing his job. It would be a good thing if they find out that Camille wasn't really a cheat.

A few minutes later, Asher had already tapped into the cameras in Camille's room. For a while, it all seemed quiet, and uneventful.

This caused doubt to creep into Camille's heart. Camille clenched her fists behind her back. What if Cleo hadn't made her move yet? What if the camera angle missed it? Doubt crept in, but she pushed it aside, this had to work.

Kelvin was already having a change of mind, and he began to think that Camille was only trying to buy time.

That was until the footage shifted, and Cleo walked into the room. Asher and Kelvin immediately sat up, and Camille breathed a sigh of relief. She could finally clear her name.

After a few minutes, a look of remorsefulness appeared on Kelvin's face.

"I told you that I wasn't the one who brought the paper in, can I return to my exam now?" Camille asked, glancing at her wristwatch with a frown.

"Of course you can," Kelvin gave in.

Camille immediately rushed out of the office once she heard his words, leaving behind Asher and Kelvin.

"You wasted my sister's time and efforts, what do you have to say about it?" Asher asked, shedding every bit of playfulness he had earlier.

"I was only doing my job," Kelvin was forced to reply. His breathing turned heavy as he couldn't stand Asher's aura.

"You should have allowed her to write the exams before you decide to investigate, if she is unable to finish, I will hunt you down, and trust me, you wouldn't like what I would do to you." Asher smiled at him.

It wasn't a threat, it was an assurance that Asher would actually do something if anything went wrong with Camille's exams.

Kelvin swallowed as he stared at Asher who had a fake smile plastered to his lips. He closed his eyes while praying for a miracle to happen.

He had no doubt that Asher would do exactly as he had said he would do.

"I'll follow her so they can allow her into the hall," unable to stand Asher's presence, Kelvin fled out of the office which caused Asher to chuckle.

"Oh Cleo, your days are numbered," he muttered to himself, a creepy smile on his face.

Meanwhile, Camille burst into the exam hall. She stopped to catch her breath when she finally got to the hall.

She looked back, only to see Kelvin behind her. She stared at him with a look which showed, 'what are you doing here?'

As though he understood the look in her eyes, he rushed to explain, "I have to explain to the other supervisors that you are innocent, they won't let you write the exams without me present."

Camille nodded, finding his words to be true.

Once they walked into the hall, there was a flurry of discussion among the students. They didn't expect her to return, and it caused them to wonder why and how she was able to return.

"Silence!" One of the supervisors yelled, and they all kept quiet, focusing on their exams.

Camille calmly collected her exam materials, before walking back to her seat with a smile on her face.

"You are back?" Cleo asked, her voice shaking due to fear.

"Of course, truth would always prevail, or aren't you aware of that?" Camille gave Cleo a chilly smile, as she took her seat, not bothering about Cleo anymore.

Cleo's breathing turned heavy immediately, and she became nervous at once.

'Remain calm Cleo, she has wasted thirty minutes, there is no way she would be able to complete these exams, you are winning,' Cleo muttered under her breath, but her fingers were shaking as she tried to complete her exams.

Camille turned to look at Cleo who looked like a mess, and she sneered, before focusing on her exams.
