Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Camille Doesn't Pursue The Matter

Others thought that Camille would be unable to complete the exams, but she proved them wrong.

After an excruciating two hours, the exam was finally over.

Camille calmly placed her pencils on the exam sheet as she waited for the supervisors to take her papers.

"Were you able to complete your exam?" Cleo asked, and Camille turned to look at her.

"What do you think?" Camille didn't respond with a straightforward answer, instead, she replied with a question of her own.

Cleo clenched her fists seeing the confident expression on her face.

"How were you able to clear your name?" Cleo questioned, a sense of foreboding washing over her.

"You'll find out soon enough, I suggest you prepare your tears and excuses soon, you'll need them," Camille answered with a grin, patting Cleo's shoulders at the same time.

It just so happened that one of their supervisors got to their seats, and picked their exam sheets.

Giving Cleo one last smile, Camille rose to her feet before exiting the hall.

Cleo could only sit with her heart beating with fear. She had no idea what went on with the investigation, and Camille's words set her heart into chaos. She had no idea what was waiting for her if she stepped out of the hall.

"Aren't you leaving?" One of the supervisors asked her, and she gasped out of fear.

"I'm leaving now," with shaky breaths, Cleo slowly walked out of the hall while breathing heavily. She was afraid that she would be stopped by one of the supervisors, and brought in for questioning.

"Cleo, you're just being paranoid," she muttered. "There's no way Camille could trace it back to me."

She heaved a sigh of relief before putting a smile on her face before walking off, that was until she was stopped by Kelvin who gave her a wide grin.

She instinctively became scared as she took a step backwards.

"Why do you look scared? Have you done something bad?" Kelvin asked with a chuckle.

"I have no idea what you are talking about," Cleo replied, swallowing in fear. She felt a sense of foreboding wash over her.

"Follow me to my office," Kelvin instructed, walking away while expecting Cleo to follow him.

Cleo took a deep breath, and she followed him.

They finally reached the office, and Kelvin gestured for her to take a seat.

Cleo sat in the chair, fidgeting all over. Her hands gripped the hand of the chair in fear of the unknown.

"Do you know what you have done?" Kelvin asked, his lips lifted up with a predatory smile.

Cleo took a deep breath, before plastering a faux smile on her face.

Tilting her head to the other side, she replied, "supervisor, I have no idea about what you are talking about. Isn't it best for you to speak straight so I can understand what you are trying to say."

Kelvin looked at the girl who had an ignorant look, and he scoffed. To him, he felt that she was the type of person who looked innocent, which enabled people to trust her.

But the truth was that she was not someone who could be trusted as she could be using the other party.

"You know, I'd have believed you just by looking at your face, but too bad, I have seen past through your façade," Kelvin paused, and he smiled seeing the way she shifted uncomfortably in her chair.

"How about you watch this?" Kelvin suggested, pushing a laptop which already had a video playing to her.

Cleo's heart was in her mouth as she watched the video. Her eyes widened as the video continued, and she let out shaky breaths.

"Do you know what I meant by my earlier words?" Kelvin questioned with his brows raised.

"I can explain, I didn't mean to bring the paper to the hall, I was only studying it because I knew Camille was a good student," Cleo rushed to explain with her chest heaving heavily due to the fear of the unknown.

"But from what I just watched, it doesn't look that way to me," Kelvin countered her words.

"You do not understand, I could have asked her, but Camille and I aren't on good terms, she hates me, but I only want to be friends with her," she wiped a tear away from her eyes with her head lowered.

Cleo played the sympathy card, but Kelvin wasn't fooled.

"Then why didn't you speak when we found the paper? It would have saved us the stress," Kelvin folded his arms as he asked.

Cleo looked around, possibly thinking about the excuse she was to come up with.

"Never mind, it is a good thing that Camille decided not to pursue the matter, and this is why you were still able to write the exam, you should probably thank her when you reach home," Kelvin scoffed, still in disbelief.

When Camille had told him that she didn't want to pursue the matter, he felt his brain explode in horror. But Camille's actions only incited respect towards her, while he felt disdain towards Cleo for making such an attempt.

'What is she planning to do?' Cleo thought to herself. The idea of Camille not pursuing the matter actually scared her, and she had no idea what she was to expect since the three siblings had already undergone a massive change in their attitudes.

Cleo took a break in her acting as she held eye contact with Kelvin.

"She didn't pursue the matter?" She questioned.

"She didn't, and it still baffles me as to why. She is probably so kind, and another person is using her kindness to her advantage," Kelvin indirectly sent a jab towards Cleo who chuckled awkwardly. She was aware that the jab was meant for her.

"You may leave, you are an eyesore," Kelvin dismissed her, unable to stand her presence.

Cleo gave a small smile, before leaving the office.

While outside the office, she clenched her fists tightly, repeatedly chanting to herself, 'remain calm.'

"Just wait, I'll deal with you later," she muttered to the door, clearly referring to Kelvin, before walking away in fury.
